Job Overview:
Play9 Sports is seeking hardworking, reliable individuals to join our Field Crew and Park Maintenance team. This role is essential in delivering a high-quality playing experience for athletes, coaches, and fans. Team members are responsible for preparing and maintaining baseball fields and surrounding facilities before, during, and after events.
This is a hands-on, outdoor position ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy working as part of a team, and can thrive in a fast-paced tournament environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Preparation and Gameday Operations:
- Prepare fields for play (dragging, chalking, setting bases, fences, etc.)
- Maintain pitchers mounds and batter's boxes throughout the day
- Clay and tamp batters boxes and pitchers mounds post event games
- Perform field touch-ups between games to ensure safe, consistent playing conditions
- Monitor field conditions and assist with weather-related maintenance
Facility Maintenance:
- Keep dugouts, bleachers, bathrooms, and common areas clean and exceeding expectations
- Empty trash and maintain overall cleanliness of the complex
- Assist with repairs to fences, netting, and equipment
Groundskeeping:
- Assist with mowing, edging, and general field and common area care
- Help maintain infield surfaces and warning tracks
- Support ongoing field improvement projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends
- Ability to lift 40+ pounds and perform physical labor
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
- Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or athletics is a plus, but not required
