Thank you for your interest in an internship with the Marion Baseball Team. It is our goal to provide you with hands-on experience and knowledge useful in competing for jobs in the sports industry, beginning with Summer Collegiate Baseball. We will also work with you to fulfill requirements for college credit if necessary. Our internships are a great learning opportunity where previous experience is not always necessary.

The internship is a part-time seasonal position, candidates must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The intern(s) will contribute to the team photo archives for the season and work closely with the teams’ social media, creative services, marketing, and sales departments. We want our photographers to capture the game on the field, but more importantly the fan experience. Each intern will leave with a well-rounded portfolio and connections to both amateur and professional photographers in the industry.

Photography interns receive a TBD salary for the summer and are expected to maintain a very challenging schedule throughout the internship. Interns are expected to be at all home games as well as play key roles in executing special events taking place at Rent One Park. Days off are granted throughout the season to help alleviate the challenging schedule.

If a career in sports is what you desire, an internship with a sports team can be a great benefit. Not only is it an important step professionally, but it’s also a great way to build relationships and network in a fun, fast paced and exciting environment. Our hope for our interns is that they use their experience to go on to bigger and better things internally, with another team or in a desired field of interest.

*We prefer for photographers to shoot on their own personal camera (Not Required). SD Cards will be providied

Job Duties:

- Shooting game action, pre-game and in-game ceremonies, promotional & sponsorship obligations, candid photos, headshots, fan photos, and ballpark.

- Contribute content and ideas for social media postings on various platforms

- Edit, caption, tag, and properly archive and organize all photos

- Assist in organizing and filing historical photos

- Assist in creating team baseball card sets

- Add photos to team archives

- Assist staff with various duties throughout the season

Skills & Qualifications:

- Some previous photography experience is required

- Basic camera operation skills

- Photoshop

- Familiarity with various social media platforms
