The Lafayette (IN) Aviators (www.lafayettebaseball.com) are a summer collegiate baseball team in the Prospect League (www.prospectleague.com) which provides collegiate players the opportunity to play competitively in a wood-bat league during the summer months in front of professional scouts, while also providing the local community with an affordable summer entertainment destination everyone can enjoy.
The Aviators play in beautiful Loeb Stadium (https://lafayettebaseball.com/about/loeb-stadium/) which was dedicated in 2021. The team has averaged more than 1,400 fans per game in each of their four seasons in the new stadium.
The Aviators are seeking student interns for the May – August time period. Interns will be gaining expertise in using and running our Trackman/Analytics within the Operations Department for the Lafayette Aviators. Training will be provided.
Job Details:
- Collect rosters and other applicable information and be set up at assigned seat in press box before first pitch
- Input game stats throughout all home games accurately
- Provide the broadcasters with interesting statistics throughout live coverage
- Responsible for setting up rosters and tagging all game information in the Trackman System
- Log information for the entire game; monitoring the system and making any changes throughout the game (i.e., roster changes, defensive substitutions, etc.)
- Troubleshoot system issues with Trackman support, fixing any errors, and uploading the data to the Trackman cloud upon completion
- Maintain Trackman equipment required for tagging
- Perform other duties as assigned
This internship is only available for college-level students, both undergrad and graduate, who are looking for an UNPAID COLLEGE CREDIT INTERNSHIP. The internship begins in May 2025 (date tbd) and concludes in August 2025 (date tbd). No housing is provided.
