The Lafayette (IN) Aviators (www.lafayettebaseball.com) are a summer collegiate baseball team in the Prospect League, giving collegiate players the opportunity to compete in a wood-bat league in front of professional scouts. At the same time, the Aviators provide the local community with an affordable, fun, and family-friendly entertainment experience.
The team plays at Loeb Stadium, a state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2021 and features stadium suites and a variety of premium seating options.
The Aviators organization offers a hands-on, high-impact internship experience designed to prepare individuals for careers in sports, media, marketing, and event operations. Interns are fully integrated into game day operations, gaining real-time experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while developing professional-level organizational, communication, and execution skills.
This internship is specifically focused on sponsorship fulfillment, in-game activation coordination, and sponsor-related content organization across digital and in-stadium platforms.
This internship is unpaid and offered for college credit.
Responsibilities
- Track and ensure fulfillment of all sponsor deliverables throughout the season
- Coordinate and organize sponsor-related social media posts, ensuring accuracy, timing, and brand alignment
- Assist with execution of in-game sponsorship elements including promotions, PA reads, and on-field activations
- Maintain detailed records of sponsor activations (in-game and digital) for reporting purposes
- Work closely with marketing and game operations staff to ensure all sponsorship obligations are met
- Prepare and manage game day sponsorship checklists and timelines
- Capture and document sponsor activations through photo/video for recap and proof-of-performance
- Assist in organizing sponsored giveaways, contests, and fan engagement initiatives
- Support post-game reporting and recap materials for sponsors
- Ensure consistency and professionalism in all sponsor-related communications and presentations
Ideal Candidate
- Available from May 13th through approximately August 12th (flexible)
- Able to work 30–40 hours per week
- Available for all 30 home games and potential playoff games
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, live-event environment
- Comfortable communicating and coordinating with multiple departments
- Interest in sports marketing, sponsorships, or event management
- Ability to think proactively and problem-solve in real time
- Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Passion for sports and creating high-quality fan and sponsor experiences
