FOCUS: TikTok, Instagram Reels & Live Game Coverage

The Lafayette (IN) Aviators (www.lafayettebaseball.com) are a summer collegiate baseball team in the Prospect League, giving collegiate players the opportunity to compete in a wood-bat league in front of professional scouts. At the same time, the Aviators provide the local community with an affordable, fun, and family-friendly entertainment experience.

The team plays at Loeb Stadium, a state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2021 and features stadium suites and a variety of premium seating options.

The Aviators organization offers a hands-on, high-impact internship experience designed to prepare individuals for careers in sports, media, and digital marketing. Interns are fully integrated into game day operations, gaining real-time experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while developing professional-level content creation and communication skills.

This internship is specifically focused on short-form video content, live posting, and real-time fan engagement across platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

This internship is unpaid and offered for college credit.

Responsibilities

  • Create, shoot, and edit short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram Reels
  • Execute live, in-game social media coverage including highlights, updates, and fan interaction
  • Capture and post real-time moments during games (big plays, promotions, crowd reactions)
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute content strategies
  • Monitor trends and adapt content to align with current social media best practices
  • Assist with writing captions, hashtags, and engaging copy
  • Support content creation for additional platforms including Instagram Stories, X, and Facebook
  • Engage with fans online to enhance the overall digital experience
Ideal Candidate

  • Available from May 13th through approximately August 12th (flexible)
  • Able to work 30–40 hours per week
  • Available for all 30 home games and potential playoff games
  • Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and short-form content trends
  • Comfortable shooting and editing video on a smartphone and/or camera
  • Experience with video editing apps/software (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.)
  • Ability to think creatively and react quickly in a live-event setting
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Passion for sports, social media, and digital storytelling
