OFFICIAL SCORER/MEDIA INFORMATION COORDINATOR
Duties
-        Score each home game using Presto Sports scoring program
-        The official scorer is responsible for deciding between hits and errors
-        The official scorer is responsible for deciding between passed balls and wild pitches
-        The official scorer is responsible for keeping track and reporting pitch counts for all pitchers participating in each game
-        Be familiar with, and follow the rules of baseball as contained in Rule 10 of the NCAA Baseball Rule Book (and as                        modified by the playing rules of the Prospect Baseball League)
-        Cooperate with colleagues in the press box and keep them informed of lineup changes as they happen during each                  home game
-        Reproduce statistical summaries from the league website
-        Prepare statistical packets for home and visiting teams each home game
-        Reproduce rosters from the league website, and distribute as needed
-        Provide post-game box scores and photos to local media
-        Assist Broadcast team with logistics as needed
-        Communicate with umpire crews and greet them prior to each game
-        Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the umpire’s locker room, the press box and visiting broadcaster’s booth
-        Help Marketing/Media Interns duties as assigned

 JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Official Scorer of the Burlington Bees, you will be an active, integral part of the many facets of a college summer baseball organization, and perhaps the most scrutinized. The primary responsibility is to provide fair, accurate, impartial and consistent scoring for both teams involved in Bees’ home games.
In addition, this position will accommodate coaches from both teams with statistical reports and current rosters. The scorer will ensure the umpire logistical experience at our ballpark is professional from arrival to departure.
They will help maintain a clean workspace and assist others with their duties when possible.

START DATE
 Start in mid-May. End on August 5, 206 (start and finish dates are flexible).
 
HOURS
 Full time. Non-game day during season 9-5, game days 9 AM through end of game. Expect to work weekends and special events.
 
 COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
 Your housing and all utilities are paid for. Housing is provided in Southeastern Community College’s Millennial Hall resident apartments.  The apartment includes pass key security, full size kitchen, internet connection and cable readiness.  These are two bedroom, four bed units. The team provides a free meal each home game. 
There is a $150 per month stipend.

QUALIFICATIONS
 Must be enrolled in or have just graduated from a college sports administration, or similar program. Must possess excellent working knowledge of the rules of baseball.  Must be detail oriented.  We are looking for talented, self-motivated individuals who want to be a part of a high-level collegiate summer baseball organization. We value open-minded, conscientious team players possessing a positive attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. You must be willing to work long hours and weekends.
