The Lead Scout for Prospect Select Baseball, Inc. plays a pivotal role in overseeing scouting operations, managing assigned scouting personnel, and ensuring high-quality player evaluations and content production across events and tournaments. This position requires strong leadership, baseball expertise, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. The Lead Scout supports the national scouting initiatives, assists in technology-driven data capture, and contributes to Prospect Select’s mission of identifying and promoting top amateur baseball talent.

Job Questions:

Have you ever created scouting reports or player write-ups? If so, explain your previous experience.
Do you have any experience collecting or analyzing data for baseball? If so, please explain what platforms you have used to collect or analyze the data.
Have you worked at Amateur Baseball events in the past? Prospect Select Baseball, Perfect Game, Prep Baseball Report, or others.
On a scale of 1 (no ability)-10 (extremely proficient), rate your ability to use multiple social platforms (Instagram, X, etc.)
You are assigned to scout and collect data on two fields within a quad complex. Thirty minutes before the first pitch, you learn that the scout assigned to the other two fields will not be able to attend. What is your immediate response, and what steps would you take to ensure the scouting department still meets its goals for the day?
During a tournament, you’re responsible for submitting Top Performer notes and scout posts by the end of each day. If games run long and time is tight, how do you manage your workflow to ensure everything is submitted on time?
