Assistant Tournament Director - Carolinas

The core focus of Prospect Select Baseball is to provide players and teams the highest level of exposure at quality venues, while catering to the needs of college coaches and pro scouts. We create an intimate atmosphere that will give the Prospect Select scouting staff, as well as college and professional scouts, a setting to see top teams from their respective states and regions compete against each other. Prospect Select will use existing market relationships to execute multiple premium-level events that focus on quality on-field play while offering a best-in-class experience for players, teams, and scouts/coaches.

Position Overview

The position plays a role in the event operations of Prospect Select Baseball. Prospect Select will provide a first-class representation of all staff members. The Assistant Tournament Director will work directly with the Director of Operations. The position will be responsible for coordination of the setup and tear down of events as well and assisting is managing the event and the event staff throughout the event.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

· Manage all fields and facilities they are assigned

· Work with Directors of Operations to coordinate equipment for events

· Load, set-up and transport equipment to and from venues

· Inventory equipment pre and post event

· Manage equipment, inventory, technology throughout the event and work with Director of Operations and others staff to troubleshoot.

· Knowledge of all tournament rules, formats, and schedule

· Serve as a Lead Operator during events as assigned
· Serve as Assistant Tournament Director in other areas of the country, as assisnged

· Assist with Showcase events as assigned

Job Questions:

Have you worked at Amateur Baseball events in the past? Prospect Select Baseball, Perfect Game, Prep Baseball Report, or others. If so please explain your experience.
On a scale of 1 (no ability)-10 (extremely proficient), rate your ability to use multiple social platforms (Instagram, X, etc.)
During a weekend tournament, one of your complex’s fields suddenly becomes unplayable due to overnight weather, and several teams begin asking for updates while the grounds crew is delayed. Walk me through your immediate actions and how you would ensure the tournament stays on schedule and teams feel supported.
If you arrive at the complex early and notice that field setups or equipment aren’t ready—and no one has asked you to handle it—what would you do, and how would you decide which tasks to take on first?
Midway through a tournament day, your field staff reports that two umpires are running behind schedule, a scorekeeper is overwhelmed, and one coach is becoming frustrated about delays. As the assistant director, how would you take charge of the situation to support your staff, communicate with teams, and keep the event running smoothly?
