Job Summary
The stats operator plays an integral role in game-day entertainment by maintaining accurate depictions of baseball information on the stadium video board during Spring Training and Bradenton Marauders games.
Responsibilities
- Keep a detailed scorecard of the game, focusing on every pitch and play.
- Keep communication with MLB Stringer, media, broadcasters and other press box officials with updates regarding judgement calls, pitching changes, substitutions, first pitch, weather, etc.
- Coordinate approval of the official postgame report with the MLB Stringer prior to its transmission to the MLB statistician.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Game Presentation.
Qualifications
Required:
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
- Advanced knowledge of the Official Baseball Rules.
- Knowledge and ability to properly fill out a baseball scorebook.
- Ability to clearly communicate information and to effectively clarify Official Scoring Rules and scoring decisions, when necessary, to club officials and others.
- Requisite computer skills.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and other flexible hours as game schedule demands.
