Job Summary
The Pittsburgh Pirates Florida Field Operations department is hiring an intern for the 2024 season at LECOM Park located in Bradenton, FL, home of the single A affiliate Bradenton Marauders. The incumbent in this role will receive hands-on experience in field operations as we host Florida State League games, high school baseball games, high school graduations, and other events.
Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with game day preparation of LECOM Park, including field preparation, batting practice, and pre-game set-up.
  2. Assist with non-game day field preparation, including fertilization, aerification, and sodding.
  3. Receive hands-on experience with spraying, irrigation maintenance, and general field upkeep/construction.
  4. Set up additional events such as concerts and corporate events.
  5. All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
  1. Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
  2. Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a 2 or 4-year Turf/Horticulture program.
  3. Flexible schedule and available to work long hours, holidays, and weekends.
  4. Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
  5. Have a strong interest in sports turf and a willingness to embrace new methods.
  6. Conduct oneself in a professional manner and adhere to all Pittsburgh Pirates employee policies.
  7. Respect the privacy of all executives, players, and staff of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
