Job Summary
This role will assist the Fan Engagement and Promotions team with Pirates home games and required special events at PNC Park. The position will play an active role in executing all Federal Street activations, including Block Parties, the Family Fun Zone, and additional fan experiences. The intern will also support the execution of theme nights, Pup Nights, Promo pick-up, and Kids Run the Bases. This position will learn the day-to-day functions of the Bucco Brigade, Pierogies, and other game day employees, while gaining hands-on experience working with the Marketing Department to help deliver a fun-filled, family-oriented, and state-of-the-art approach to game entertainment at PNC Park. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to maintain a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
Primary
- Support the Coordinator, Fan Engagement, with the execution of Theme Nights, Block Parties, Family Fun Days, Kids Run the Bases, and Pup Nights.
- Assist with the collection and distribution of promotional items for pregame experiences.
- Stay for the duration of select games to facilitate in/post-game fan experiential packages, including Kids Run the Bases, Pup Nights, select theme nights, and provide additional support for other Pirates staff as needed.
- Support the Coordinator, Fan Engagement, in greeting all vendors and ensuring that Federal Street is open and closed in accordance with the permit.
- Physically assist with setup and teardown of activations, with the ability to stand for long durations and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Collect and distribute all materials needed for the Bucco Brigade, Pierogies, and Ball Team to execute pre-game and in-game activations according to game scripts and theme nights.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Secondary
- Work with other departments to help plan and execute theme nights and Federal Street activations.
- Serve as an additional point of contact for theme night execution around the ballpark, including Promo Pickup, Federal Street, Pup Nights, Yinzerpalooza, Family Fun Days, Hall of Fame, and other special events.
Required:
- Candidates majoring in Marketing or similar field.
- Must be in a Degree-Seeking Program at Junior, Senior or Graduate level.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Desired:
- Experience with collegiate or professional sports team.
- Previous event management experience.
