Job Summary
The Bucco Brigade are the gameday staff members responsible for executing all in-game entertainment for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Members will be asked to work games, as well as non-gameday related events in the ballpark and will be serving as community ambassadors while attending various community functions promoting Pirates Baseball.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the execution of all inning break activities that include, t-shirt tosses, holding the finish line of The Great Pittsburgh Pierogy Race, singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame, Rally Flags, Raise the Jolly Roger, lucky row promotions, and other in-game features.
- Responsible for all prep work for each inning break.
- Will serve as the mascot performer for any Chick-Fil-A mid-inning breaks.
- Responsible for the execution of the STEM Zone (Pitch Metrics, Broadcast Booth, VR Home Run Derby), as well as assisting with the Pin Wall on select days of the week.
- Responsible for the set up and execution of Kid's Sunday events that include Kids Fun Zone on Federal Street (pre-game) and Kids Run the Bases (post-game).
- Candidates will be trained on pre-game activities such as balloon twisting, t-shirt toss, etc.
- Assist with Pierogy appearances, either as a character or assisting characters at community functions and home games.
- Other duties as assigned by the Marketing and Ballpark Entertainment departments.
Qualifications
Required:
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
- Selected candidates will be required to attend mandatory meetings/events including: Gameday Staff Orientation, Guest Promise Training, Rehearsal Games, Photo Shoot, and Pirates Fest 2026. Mandatory dates will be given after the team has been decided.
- Must be available to attend in person auditions on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
- General knowledge of baseball and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
- 18 years or older.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds or more.
- Reliable transportation to and from the ballpark during your employment with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
- Comfortable working with the public, especially children.
- Ability to work 70% of 81 home games (57 games) beginning on Opening Day (Friday, April 3rd) 2026 with a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. (Monday - Saturday schedule typically starts at 5:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am)
- Ability to attend at least 70% of all community functions promoting Pirates baseball. (Timing of these events are typically weekends but may fall within 9:00 am - 5:00 pm during the weekday)
- Must obtain Act 33, 34 and 73 clearances within 60 days of start date.
Desired:
- At least one (1) semester of college credit desired.
- Prior performance, entertainment and public relations/communications experience are preferred.
