Job Description:
As the Videoboard Operator for the Oakland Ballers, you will play a huge role in enhancing the fan experience by controlling the ballpark's videoboard. Working closely with the production team, you will be responsible for playing out video elements, player introduction cards, taking instant replays and in some cases helping the showrunner call the show.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the videoboard during pregame, in game, and postgame, including between batters, pitches, and breaks in live play.
- Collaborate with Producer and Showcaller to fulfill specific video and sound effect elements.
- Closely monitor the progress of the game and make timely decisions on which content to fire,
including hype videos, situational video elements, sponsorship activations, etc.
- Coordinate with the public address announcer/host and DJ to ensure that all game elements are synchronized.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with the video system and work quickly to resolve any disruption.
- Attend any pre-production or post-production meetings and rehearsals as needed.
Qualifications:
- MUST have previous experience with Motion Rocket (MORO) specifically in a baseball setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple content streams.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing game situations and audience preferences.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other members of the production team and game operations staff.
- A passion for baseball and an understanding of the game’s nuances, enabling you to anticipate key moments and deliver compelling content to enhance the fan experience.
- Ability to attend all home games
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as baseball games can occur during non-traditional working hours.
