Overview
The Stadium and Game Day Operations Lead will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, execution, and oversight of all stadium-related functions and event-day activities. This role is central to ensuring a safe, efficient, and exceptional experience for all guests, staff, athletes, and media during events and non-event times. This role reports to the General Manager and is a seasonal role.
Responsibilities
Pre-Event Planning and Preparation
- Develop and manage detailed game day operational plans, checklists, and timelines for all events (e.g., sporting events, concerts, private functions).
- Coordinate extensively with internal departments (e.g., Security, Ticketing, Concessions, Guest Services, Maintenance) and external partners (e.g. vendors).
- Oversee all logistical planning, including ingress/egress strategies, traffic flow, parking management, and facility setup/teardown.
- Ensure the stadium facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality prior to event day.
Game Day/Event Execution
- Act as the primary point of contact for all operational issues and emergencies on event days, implementing swift and effective solutions.
- Direct and supervise Game Day Staff, ensuring all personnel are correctly deployed, trained, and executing their roles efficiently.
- Monitor crowd management, guest flow, and access control points to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings with relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate the timely setup and breakdown of specialized areas, including tabling, and VIP spaces.
Stadium Operations and Maintenance
- Oversee third-party facility service contracts (e.g., cleaning, waste management, utilities).
- Familiarity with Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all stadium functions.
- Manage inventory and deployment of operational equipment (e.g., radios, barricades, signage).
Team Leadership and Administration
- Recruit, train, schedule, and manage a team of full-time and part-time/seasonal Game Day Operations Staff.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment across all operational teams.
- Prepare detailed post-event reports, analyzing operational efficiency, incidents, and guest feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in stadium operations, large venue management, or large-scale event production.
- Proven experience managing and leading large, diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, executives, and public safety officials.
- Deep knowledge of safety regulations, crowd management techniques, and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by the event calendar.
