The Missoula PaddleHeads are a professional baseball organization dedicated to delivering outstanding fan experiences while serving as the centerpiece for baseball and community engagement in Missoula. Operating out of Ogren Park at Allegiance Field, we are committed to doing things the right way, building meaningful relationships, and striving for excellence both on and off the field. 

The Missoula PaddleHeads Internship Program offers hands-on, immersive experience within a professional sports organization. Interns are integrated into the daily operations of the front office and game-day environment, gaining practical exposure to the business of baseball while working alongside experienced industry professionals. 

This program is designed for individuals eager to learn, contribute, and grow personally and professionally while preparing for future careers in sports, events, and venue management. 

Interns are considered essential members of our team and are expected to take ownership of their work while supporting organizational goals. Our culture emphasizes collaboration, accountability, adaptability, and a strong commitment to the fan experience and community impact. The internship environment is fast-paced and demanding, offering a rewarding experience for those passionate about professional sports. 

Social Media Intern 
The 2026 Missoula PaddleHeads are looking for an intern interested in learning how to support the creation and execution of our social media presence during the 2026 baseball season. This internship’s focus is supporting our social media strategy across all PaddleHeads platform for home games and team-related activities, helping tell the story of the team while engaging fans in real time, and getting people to attend events and games at the ballpark. This is an amazing internship for someone who dreams of building a career in digital content, brand storytelling, and fan engagement within professional sports. 

This is a paid ‘For-Credit’ internship. Housing is provided. This position, as well as any position with the Missoula PaddleHeads, requires the ability to work long hours which includes weekends and holidays. During the duration of your internship, you are required to work all home games. 

Social Media Responsibilities and Expectations:  
  • Honor our working values and participate as part of the team

  • Must be self-motivated and able to manage time well 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Show initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn through hands-on experience 
  • Ability to stay up to date on trends for all social media platforms while staying on brand and maintaining a professional presence 
  • Create original content for use on team social platforms, in-game elements, and website 
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tik Tok  
  • Creation of graphics primarily for marketing purposes, but also in support of other departments. 
  • Support any PaddleHeads non-baseball events at Ogren Park Allegiance Field and in the community - including concerts, youth baseball and community events 

2026 Summer Projects: 
  1. Digital Media/Social Media: Working with the Marketing and Promotions Manager, you will work to enhance and execute the team’s social media, website, SEM, and other digital marketing strategies. You will be tasked with maintaining our brand identity on all platforms and providing new, and creative ideas to spark engagement on social media. You will be taught how to analyze and target market demographics, create targeted ads specific to various campaigns, and how to optimize inbound data from current and potential customers. Completion of this project will give you experience in social media, website construction, digital media ad placement, and increase your knowledge and experience of maximizing ROI in digital marketing strategies. While you will be tasked with staying up to date with trends on all social media platforms, a great majority of your position will center around the teams’ TikTok page and the growth of it throughout the PaddleHeads season. 
  2. Creative Content: You will collaborate with the Marketing and Promotions Manager to create static images and eye-catching videos to maximize the execution of the team’s marketing strategies. These include highlight videos, hype videos, and short-form documentaries showcasing our team and the Missoula community. In addition to collaborating in those areas, you will be tasked to execute the creation of an original content idea of your choosing that best helps the organization and our current plans. Completion of this project will enhance your content creation skills and knowledge of what it takes to create successful visual marketing mediums. You will be a key part of the content team and work directly with the Creative Content and Marketing Intern on this! 
 
Experience Required: 
  • Experience in Adobe Suite – Photoshop and Premiere Preferred 
  • Experience in Social Media: Tik Tok, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook  
  • Maintain an outgoing, energetic, and creative mindset 
  • Must possess strong writing skills 
  • Ability to be creative and enhance our product
