The Missoula PaddleHeads, under the umbrella of Big Sky Professional Baseball, LLC.,
are seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Athletic Trainer to join our team for the 2026
Professional Baseball Season. This individual will be responsible for the prevention, assessment, 
treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries for players throughout the season. This position will work in 
concert with our Orthopedic Care Team of Physicians. The ideal candidate will have experience in 
sports medicine, be proactive in injury management, and have a passion for providing high-quality care 
to athletes in a professional sports setting.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Injury Prevention and Management - Provide quality comprehensive care for athletes through 
prevention, evaluation, care, and treatment of injuries and illnesses and assist with injury 
rehabilitation. Design and implement injury prevention programs to ensure athletes' physical 
readiness for games and practices. Provide injury evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment plans.
Monitor and manage injury rehabilitation programs for players.
• On-Site Athletic Training - Serve as the certified athletic trainer for the baseball team 
including practice and game coverage at home in Missoula and on the road as the team travels 
for games.
• Collaboration with Coaching Staff and Team Physicians and Specialists - Communicate 
effectively with coaches and management to ensure athletes’ health and wellness. Coordinate 
with team physicians and specialists for referrals and follow-up care.
• Travel - Travel with the team for away games and events as required. Ensure that all medical 
supplies and equipment are available and properly maintained during travel.
• Administrative Duties - Maintain accurate records of player health, injuries, and treatment 
progress. Assist in maintaining the athletic training room, ensuring a clean and organized 
environment.
• Compliance and Education - Stay updated on the latest practices in sports medicine, injury 
treatment, and preventative care. Ensure compliance with all league regulations, including 
concussion protocols and other safety guidelines.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skill Set Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in athletic training
• Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association. 
• Certified in Functional Movement Screening (Preferred)
• CPR and AED Certified
• Experience working with baseball players/baseball teams is highly desirable. Strong knowledge 
of sports medicine principles and practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with players, coaches, and staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
