About Innovation Baseball Partners (IBP)

Innovation Baseball Partners (IBP) is an ownership group and operating company focused on building a portfolio of independent minor league baseball teams. We believe in the magic of baseball as a force for good, fostering high-quality baseball and strong community contributions through innovation, entertainment, and civic pride.

IBP provides resources, scale, and expertise to help each standalone team in our portfolio thrive. Our teams play in the Pioneer Baseball League, an independent league founded in 1939 that partners with Major League Baseball. ⚾️

This is a unique opportunity to drive sales for Long Beach's new independent professional baseball team. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes Long Beach—a leader who will ensure our team is deeply connected in the community and champions the culture that makes Long Beach so special.

Role Description

The Manager, Corporate Partnerships at Long Beach Baseball Club will play a hands-on role in both selling and activating sponsorships. This person will drive new business, manage existing partnerships, and ensure that every agreement is fulfilled with excellence, from creative activations and community events to in-game signage and partner hospitality.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, relationship-driven professional with a background in sales, event execution, and marketing. This is an on-site, community-facing role that requires consistent presence at the ballpark and within the local business community.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

●      Identify, research, and engage local, regional, and national brands aligned with club values and fan demographics.
●      Develop customized proposals and presentations using Canva that showcase creative partnership concepts.
●      Conduct outreach and in-person meetings with business leaders across the community to cultivate relationships and close deals.
●      Negotiate contracts and manage approvals in collaboration with IBP leadership.

Partnership Activation & Fulfillment
●      Serve as the main point of contact for partner execution, managing all deliverables including signage, promotions, digital content, and hospitality.
●      Build detailed activation calendars, coordinate creative assets, and oversee installation or in-venue execution.
●      Capture and report proof of performance, ensuring all commitments are delivered on time and at a high standard.
●      Manage game-day partner activations, giveaways, PA reads, and special events.
●      Oversee partner hospitality and ensure VIP experiences are executed seamlessly.

Relationship Management & Community Engagement
●      Develop strong, long-term relationships with partners and local business leaders.
●      Represent the team at community events, networking functions, and chamber of commerce activities.
●      Act as an ambassador for the club, helping connect baseball to broader community initiatives.
●      Support internal community programs and charitable activations in partnership with local organizations.

Collaboration & Administration
●      Work closely with marketing, game operations, and ticketing to ensure all partner assets are properly integrated into the fan experience.
●      Maintain organized records of contracts, deliverables, and revenue tracking using SponsorCX and shared platforms.
●      Provide timely updates, reports, and partner recaps to leadership.

Qualifications
Required
●      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
●      2–5 years of sales experience (preferably in sports, media, events, or a related field).
●      Proven ability to build relationships and close deals in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
●      Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proposal writing and presentation delivery.
●      Excellent organization and project management skills — able to handle multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
●      Comfortable working with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Canva for presentation and reporting needs.
●      Willingness and availability to work nights, weekends, and game days.
●      Must live in or be willing to relocate to the team’s local market.
