About Innovation Baseball Partners (IBP)
Innovation Baseball Partners (IBP) is an ownership group and operating company focused on building a portfolio of independent minor league baseball teams. We believe in the magic of baseball as a force for good, fostering high-quality baseball and strong community contributions through innovation, entertainment, and civic pride.

IBP provides resources, scale, and expertise to help each standalone team in our portfolio thrive. Currently, our portfolio includes the Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers and the Long Beach Baseball Club, with additional teams in active development. Our teams play in the Pioneer Baseball League, an independent league founded in 1939 that partners with Major League Baseball.

This is a unique opportunity to drive community engagement for Long Beach's new independent professional baseball team. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes Long Beach—a leader who will ensure our team is deeply connected in the community and champions the culture that makes Long Beach so special.

Role Description
Are you passionate about building authentic connections and driving community impact through the power of sports? We're looking for a dynamic, outgoing, and deeply local Community Engagement Manager in Long Beach, CA. You’ll be the bridge between the team and the city, helping make every fan feel like part of something bigger.

This is not a desk job. You'll be out in the community, forming meaningful partnerships, leading activations, and making sure our brand reflects the city we represent. If you live and breathe Long Beach, know how to rally a crowd, and want to help shape a team that truly belongs to its community, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
●      Community Presence & Activations: Be the heart and soul of our community presence. Represent the team at local events, including street fairs, school functions, civic meetings, festivals, and beyond. You’ll be our #1 community ambassador.
●      Street Team Leadership: In partnership with the Head of Marketing, hire, train, and lead a passionate street team. You'll coordinate appearances at multiple events and games each week, ensuring our brand is seen, felt, and remembered.
●      Outreach & Partnerships: Build strong relationships with schools, nonprofits, and community organizations. Lead programs like youth clinics, fan appreciation days, and other initiatives that bring value to Long Beach residents.
●      Community Storytelling: Work closely with our creative team to spotlight the people, places, and partnerships that define our city. Help shape marketing and branding materials that celebrate Long Beach and those who make it special.
●      Community Support: Coordinate in-kind donations, team appearances, and the mascot’s community schedule.
●      Impact Reporting: Contribute to our annual community impact report and help track the outcomes of our programs through data and stories.
●      Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with the sponsorship department to create and activate partnerships that have a meaningful impact on the community. Work with the digital team to share compelling community content on our social media and website.
●      Gameday Engagement: Host community groups on game days and support with the set-up, management, and breakdown of pregame, in-game, and post-game fan activations.

The position is hybrid, with expectation of frequent in-person engagements in Long Beach, CA.

Who You Are: Qualifications & Attributes
●      People Person & Energizer: You’re outgoing, approachable, and thrive on meeting new people. You’re more than comfortable in front of a crowd or a camera.
●      Deeply Local: You know Long Beach inside and out. Not just the neighborhoods, but the pulse. You’re already connected to local leaders, business owners, and changemakers.
●      Community Builder: You’ve led or supported programs or initiatives that drive real community impact, and you’re ready to do more.
●      Entrepreneurial & Scrappy: You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You have a "builder" mentality and are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get the job done.
●      A Passion for Sports & Community: You have a genuine belief in the power of sports to bring people together, build a more healthy society, and revitalize communities. You are motivated by the opportunity to deliver a positive impact to the fans and communities our teams serve.

Preferred
●      Bilingual (fluent in English and Spanish)
●      Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
●      Creative thinker with strong attention to detail and storytelling instincts
