This is an exciting opportunity to be part of game day operations for Long Beach’s professional baseball teams: the Long Beach Coast and the Long Beach Regulators. We’re looking for energetic, dependable individuals who are passionate about creating an outstanding fan experience.
Position Overview
The Game Presentation Production Crew plays a critical behind-the-scenes role in delivering a dynamic, seamless, and visually engaging entertainment experience for our fans. This crew is responsible for the technical execution of the live game production, including video boards, camera operations, graphics, and on-field coordination. Crew members will serve as the technical backbone of the game day atmosphere, representing the brand and culture of both the Long Beach Coast and Long Beach Regulators.
This is a fast-paced, live-event role that requires strong technical awareness, quick problem-solving skills, and a team-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on your specific role within the crew, duties will include:
DAK Show Control Operator
- Operate Daktronics (DAK) Show Control systems during live games.
- Trigger video animations, fan prompts, sponsor graphics, and interactive features at the correct moments.
- Maintain a sharp focus on the flow of the game to ensure timely delivery of video board content.
Technical Director / Graphics
- Switch live camera feeds and manage the technical broadcast of the video board.
- Queue and execute lower-thirds, score bug updates, and other live graphics.
- Work closely with the producer/director to execute the scripted run-of-show smoothly.
Camera Operator
- Capture high-quality live game action, fan reactions, and on-field promotions.
- Follow director cues to frame shots accurately and creatively.
- Set up and break down camera equipment safely before and after events.
Stage Manager / Camera Utility
- Coordinate on-field elements, including contest setup, prop management, and talent cues.
- Assist camera operators with cable management and movement in crowded areas.
- Serve as the communication bridge between the control room and the field.
General Game Day Duties
- Assist with pre-game setup and post-game breakdown of control room and field equipment.
- Collaborate with game day operations staff to ensure a seamless fan experience.
- Be flexible and ready to support adjacent game day needs.
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, live-production environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow quick, real-time directions over headset.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and a genuine enthusiasm for the fan experience.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Must be available for home games from May through September, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience in live sports production, broadcasting, or technical theatre.
- Familiarity with control room equipment (Daktronics, video switchers, graphic engines) or professional camera operation.
- Ability to remain calm and troubleshoot under the pressure of a live event.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $16.90
Schedule Requirements
Must be available for home games for both the Long Beach Coast and Long Beach Regulators, as well as select stadium events from May through September, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
