Innovation Baseball Partners (IBP) is an ownership group and operating company focused on building a portfolio of independent minor league baseball teams. We believe in the magic of baseball as a force for good, fostering high-quality baseball and strong community contributions through innovation, entertainment, and civic pride. 

IBP provides resources, scale, and expertise to help each standalone team in our portfolio thrive. Currently, our portfolio includes the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds and the Long Beach Coast, with additional teams in active development. Our teams play in the Pioneer Baseball League, an independent league founded in 1939 that partners with Major League Baseball. ⚾️

This is a unique opportunity to drive community engagement for Long Beach's new independent professional baseball team. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes Long Beach—a leader who will ensure our team is deeply connected in the community and champions the culture that makes Long Beach so special. 


Key Responsibilities:

Clubhouse Operations & Maintenance
  • Ensure the clubhouse, locker rooms, coaches’ offices, training areas, umpire room, showers, and storage spaces are clean, organized, and well-stocked daily.
  • Reset clubhouse spaces at the end of each game day.
  • Maintain clubhouse and dugout supplies (towels, water, sports drinks, snacks, cleaning products).
  • Coordinate laundering of team uniforms, towels, and travel gear; drop off/pick up laundry as needed.
  • Track inventory (equipment, clubhouse supplies, groceries) and report shortages proactively.
  • Assist with onboarding new players’ uniforms and equipment.
  • Coordinate distribution of player & staff mail.
  • Support and potentially supervise any clubhouse assistants, interns, or ball/bat persons.

Equipment Management
  • Assist with setup, organization, and maintenance of player equipment (bats, gloves, protective gear, uniforms).
  • Distribute equipment to players entering and exiting the field; collect and store afterward.
  • Transport equipment to/from the field or between locations as needed.

Game Day Support
  • Prepare dugouts and clubhouse for practices and games.
  • Provide on-field support during games, including delivery of water, towels, and gear to players and coaches.
  • Coordinate and assist with game day meals and snacks for players and staff.
  • Ad hoc requests from coaching staff or other Club personnel.

Qualifications:
  • 1–2 years of experience in the sports industry.
  • Passion for baseball and general knowledge of the game.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience working in professional or collegiate baseball.
  • Familiarity in and around a clubhouse or baseball environment.
  • Knowledge of working with commercial grade laundry equipment.
