IBP provides resources, scale, and expertise to help each standalone team in our portfolio thrive. Currently, our portfolio includes the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds and the Long Beach Coast, with additional teams in active development. Our teams play in the Pioneer Baseball League, an independent league founded in 1939 that partners with Major League Baseball. ⚾️
This is a unique opportunity to drive community engagement for Long Beach's new independent professional baseball team. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes Long Beach—a leader who will ensure our team is deeply connected in the community and champions the culture that makes Long Beach so special.
Key Responsibilities:
Player Health & Performance
- Direct all aspects of player health, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Design and execute individualized return-to-play protocols with clear progression standards.
- Deliver daily treatment and recovery with a performance-driven approach.
- Make decisive recommendations on player availability based on clinical evaluation and readiness.
Team Coverage & Travel
- Provide full coverage for all team activities, including practices and games.
- Travel with the team for some road games, alternating with other ATC.
- Lead on-field injury response and manage acute care situations.
- Own preparation and management of all medical equipment and travel resources.
Medical Operations & Communication
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical documentation across all players.
- Communicate daily player status clearly and decisively to coaching staff.
- Coordinate care with physicians and external providers when required.
- Set and uphold professional standards within the training room, including organization, sanitation, and operational readiness.
- Ensure full compliance with league health and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) required.
- CPR/AED certification required.
- Exceptional organizational, documentation, and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Attributes:
- Prior experience in baseball (collegiate, summer collegiate, or professional preferred).
- Advanced knowledge of baseball-specific injury mechanisms, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and performance demands.
- CSCS or RSCC preferred.
Compensation:
- Salary: Up to $5,000 / month
