Merchandise Coordinator
About the Role
The Glacier Range Riders are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Merchandise Coordinator to lead our retail operations. This is a crucial role for a passionate individual who can manage all aspects of our merchandise, from procurement to sales, ensuring our fans have a great selection of high-quality team gear onsite and online.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Buying Management:
· Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels for all merchandise.
· Plan, organize, and execute the buying strategy for each season, staying ahead of current retail and sports trends.
· Work with the leadership team to forecast sales, establish budgets, and provide cost information.
Operations & Logistics:
· Accurately create purchase orders (POs) and track shipments. Receive, process, and stock incoming inventory, always maintaining an organized and efficient merchandise storage warehouse.
· Manage merchandise on the Square platform to ensure new items are promptly added, inventory and promotions are accurate, product descriptions are engaging and optimized, and products have properly sized, high-quality images and videos.
· Maintain and grow strong relationships with all vendors and suppliers and source new vendors to expand our product offerings.
Sales & E-commerce:
· Constantly evaluate and update the physical and online stores to keep product mix, listings, offers, and promotions fresh and engaging.
· Ensure all content on the online store and signs, promotional material, and information in the physical store is accurate and relevant.
· Regularly collaborate with marketing on the design of the online store to enhance the layout, organization, and branding, ensuring a high-quality and seamless customer experience.
· Fulfill and ship all online orders in a timely and accurate manner.
· Provide regular reporting on sales performance, campaign effectiveness, and progress toward revenue goals, leading data-driven discussions to evaluate results and refine strategies.
Marketing:
· Develop and execute ongoing and seasonal campaigns, with support from marketing, to promote merchandise collections, aligning with key retail periods (i.e. holidays, opening day) to maximize sales and customer engagement.
· Contribute to the social media content strategy for merchandise, developing content and campaigns with marketing to boost brand awareness, showcase products, and drive traffic to the online store.
· Facilitate regular merchandise photo shoots with the marketing team to capture consistent, high-quality product images and videos for online sales, including both uniform product photography and styled, modeled photo sessions.
· Monitor competitor marketing strategies to identify opportunities, benchmark performance, and recommend innovative approaches to be leaders in the retail market.
Team Collaboration:
· Work closely with marketing, finance, and game-day operations teams to ensure seamless merchandise management.
· Train and oversee part-time staff for in-stadium store location game day, other sales events, and pop-up events throughout the year.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in retail, merchandising, or inventory management.
- Proven ability to manage inventory, forecast needs, and create buying plans.
- Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms and online sales growth.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for vendor relations.
- Proficiency in creating purchase orders and tracking shipments.
- A passion for baseball and a fast-paced team environment is a plus!
