Summary/Objective
The Glacier Range Riders, winners of the 2024 McCurdy Cup as the Pioneer League’s top organization, offer a first-class professional baseball environment at the award-winning Glacier Bank Park. As a Broadcast & Media Relations Assistant, you will join a franchise committed to delivering the best broadcast product in the PBL, including a full two-man booth for all 96 games and industry-leading production standards.
This role provides hands-on experience within one of the most respected organizations in Independent Professional Baseball, preparing trainees for future full-time opportunities with the Range Riders or other top-tier sports organizations. The position is seasonal, running approximately from May 15 to September 15, and does not include benefits beyond pay.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Broadcasting:
- Act as the No. 2 broadcaster (color commentator) for all 96 broadcasts of Glacier Range Riders baseball, including playoffs if necessary. Opportunities to serve as the play-by-play broadcaster will be made available as the season progresses.
- The role will travel on the road with the team as well.
- Possibility for live interviews of players.
- Edit video highlights and post to social media.
- Produce and execute promotional videos.
- Edit and produce audio elements, including highlights, interviews, commercials & radio imaging.
Writing:
- Assist with the creation of game notes, stat packs and lineups.
- Write game recaps, feature stories and articles for the Range Riders website.
- Help in writing press releases for roster moves and various club news.
Media Relations
- Assist with all media relations efforts including press releases, interview requests, media credentials, and related duties.
- Assist in maintenance of the Range Riders Stadium press box.
- Assist with social media.
Game Production
- Assist with the planning and execution of the everyday game production elements including script writing, mid-inning game planning, and other related items.
- Be prepared to fill in as the public address announcer when needed.
Requirements
Candidates should:
- Be willing to work with entire front office to assist in the day-to-day operation of the Range Riders, not just media relations/broadcasting.
- Have experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition, Illustrator).
- Have working knowledge of production equipment and the ability to conceive, create and execute multimedia projects.
- Possess strong writing and verbal skills.
- Have play-by-play and media relations experience.
- Be willing to learn, work hard, handle multiple projects at once and maintain a good attitude.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a seasonal position. Days and hours will vary to include evening and weekend work according to business needs.
Compensation: Seasonal salary with housing provided.
