POSITION SUMMARY:
The Security Guard position is responsible for providing game-day security services at BayCare Ballpark as well as year-around coverage, off-season. They will also monitor security at Carpenter Complex. Candidates must be willing to work event-based hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as the ballpark’s schedule requires. This is a customer-facing position that requires a high level of customer service while maintaining the safety and security of our ballpark for our guests. We are looking for applicants who can do these different shifts; days, nights, weekends.
This position will be located on-site in Clearwater, FL.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform scheduled and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility to check for any security breaches.
- Verify players, coaches, and staff at various checkpoints throughout the facility.
- Assist on major and minor league game days with crowd control throughout the ballpark and training facility.
- Assist the maintenance staff in securing an area during a maintenance emergency.
- Collaborate with other members of the corporate security team to ensure that the facility is always secure.
- Able to communicate via two-way radio.
- Ability to liaison with the local police and fire departments, read fire alarm panels to direct police and fire in the event of an alarm.
- Patrol premises to ensure they are secure; will need to navigate stairs, as well as operate a golf cart.
- Keep mental alertness and attention to detail high, no matter the circumstances.
- Follow established security protocols while using initiative and good judgment.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Physically able to navigate a large facility, prolonged standing, walking & stairs.
- Ability to work in the elements (sun, rain, wind, hot/cold temperature).
- Police, military, or security experience is preferred, but not required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
- Individuals must be dependable, trustworthy, possess strong oral and written communication and have excellent interpersonal skills.
