Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Baseball Journalism Intern to support our media and communications efforts. This role is ideal for a student or aspiring sports journalist looking to gain hands-on experience covering baseball through writing, editing, and content development. The intern will contribute to game coverage, feature stories, press materials, and digital content while working closely with the communications/ journalism team.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and develop content for baseball-related coverage, including game summaries, player features, and team updates
- Write and edit press releases, articles, and scouting recap stories
- Provide timely game-day coverage, including recaps, highlights, and statistical summaries
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency
- Collaborate with the media team to publish content across website, social media, and newsletters
- Maintain organized records of statistics, notes, and media materials
- Support special projects such as season previews, prospect reports, and community features
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Journalism, Communications, Sports Media, or a related field
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Knowledge of baseball rules, terminology, and statistics
- Familiarity with basic sports reporting standards
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, especially on game days
- Experience with content management systems or social media platforms is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Experience writing sports articles, blogs, or school publications
- Basic understanding of baseball analytics and scouting terminology
- Photography or multimedia skills are a bonus

Start Date: May - August 2026 (flexible start date depending on school, schedule, etc.)
Compensation: $500/week
Travel: Must be willing to travel to and from events in the area
