Are you a multi-talented professional with a passion for baseball, a knack for engaging storytelling, and strong business acumen? The Pecos League Office, in collaboration with the Dublin Leprechauns, is seeking a dedicated Play by Play Broadcaster & Assistant General Manager for our 2027 season. This is a unique opportunity to be the voice of our team while also driving its off-field success, bringing the excitement of independent baseball to fans and managing key operational aspects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging and accurate live play-by-play commentary for all Dublin Leprechauns home and away games during the 2027 season.
- Conduct pre-game and post-game interviews with coaches, players, and staff as needed.
- Research and prepare statistics, player bios, and team information to enhance broadcast quality.
- Operate streaming equipment and ensure high-quality audio and video transmission for all broadcasts.
- Engage with fans through broadcast interactions and social media channels.
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day business operations of the team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in developing and executing sales strategies for tickets, group sales, and sponsorships.
- Support the planning and execution of engaging game day entertainment and promotional activities.
- Cultivate strong relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and media outlets.
- Manage and mentor gameday staff and interns.
- Ensure compliance with all Pecos League rules and regulations regarding business operations.
- Travel with the team to all away games.
- Please note: This position is focused solely on the business, operational, and broadcasting aspects of the team and does not involve on-field baseball personnel decisions or concessions management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sports broadcasting, particularly play-by-play commentary for baseball.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, with a clear, articulate, and engaging delivery.
- Strong knowledge of baseball rules, strategies, and terminology.
- Demonstrated ability in business operations, sales, or marketing, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with live streaming technology and equipment (audio mixers, cameras, software).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for both broadcast preparation and business tasks.
- Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A passion for independent baseball and connecting with fans and the community.
Season Details & Compensation:
- This is a paid position.
- The operational period for this role is from May 28th to July 28th, 2027.
- Position is based in Dublin, California, requiring travel with the team for away games.
