Are you an aspiring or experienced broadcaster with a passion for baseball and a talent for vivid storytelling? The Pecos League Office, in collaboration with the Pecos Bills, is seeking a dedicated Play-by-Play Broadcaster for our 2027 season. This is an exciting opportunity to be the voice of our team, bringing the excitement of independent baseball to fans through live streaming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engaging and accurate live play-by-play commentary for all Pecos Bills home and away games during the 2027 season.
- Conduct pre-game and post-game interviews with coaches, players, and staff as needed.
- Research and prepare statistics, player bios, and team information to enhance broadcast quality.
- Operate streaming equipment and ensure high-quality audio and video transmission for all broadcasts on platforms like Vimeo.
- Engage with fans through broadcast interactions and potentially social media channels.
- Travel with the team to all away games within West Texas.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and represent the Pecos Bills and Pecos League positively at all times.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sports broadcasting, particularly play-by-play commentary for baseball.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills, with a clear, articulate, and engaging delivery.
- Strong knowledge of baseball rules, strategies, and terminology.
- Ability to work independently and manage all aspects of a live broadcast.
- Familiarity with live streaming technology and equipment (audio mixers, cameras, software).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for pre-game preparation.
- Ability to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A passion for independent baseball and connecting with fans.
Season Details & Compensation:
- This is a paid position.
- Housing will be provided for the duration of the season.
- The operational period for this role is from May 28th to July 28th, 2027.
- Position is based in West Texas, requiring travel with the team.
