Position Overview:
In this seasonal role you will be Responsible for the ongoing operations of our retail store and working in tandem with the Director managing our store daily, and expanding the retail and merchandising strategy of our business. This is a hands on position.
Essential Job Functions:
- This is a local position and you will be required to work a consistent schedule in the retail and merchandise store for our team on non-game days and game days. This will include weekends and weeknights.
- Responsible for inventory management and store based accounting functions.
- Assist in purchasing merchandise online for the store.
- Monitor product sales, inventory turns, markdowns and all other costs to maximize sales and profitability of the team.
- Work on merchandise presentation, space allotment and point of purchase information.
- Responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, scheduling and training seasonal staff.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing to ensure the retail store achieves financial goals.
- Assist with promotional events and merchandise.
- Effectively schedule and direct the workload of the retail staff, including: work schedules, posting the schedules weekly for the staff and assure staff performs tasks at an acceptable level.
Physical Demands & Working Environment:
- Required to work long hours standing and walking around.
- Sitting, standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, or crouching are all part of this position.
- Must be able to handle weather related elements such as rain and heat.
Experience Required To Be Considered:
- Candidate must have at two years' experience minimum working in a retail store in a baseball environment, and have experience with training and hiring retail based seasonal staff.
- Candidate should have experience using Retail Pro and Shopify.
- Candidate must have good working knowledge of retail systems and inventory management systems.
Please note this is an hourly position, perfect for a candidate who is seeking an internship credit, or for a part time role without credit. We will only hire local candidates for this role, as relocation for this position is not feasible nor practical.
