Facility Operations/Event Staff: Grounds Crew/Turf Management
The Reno Aces are seeking a qualified candidate for a Seasonal Field Operations Assistant position. Greater Nevada Field is home to the Reno Aces Baseball Club, Triple A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Greater Nevada Field is located in the heart of Downtown Reno, which also hosts several non-sporting events which includes but is not limited to high school baseball games, high school soccer matches, weddings, corporate batting practices, concerts, etc. Greater Nevada Field is a sand-based Kentucky Bluegrass field.


Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following:
  • Assist in all aspects of turfgrass management at Greater Nevada Field, including the Front Entrance, Right Field Grass Berm and Baseball Mountain landscape.
  • Assist in preparation for all Aces games and some outside events.
  • Daily maintenance and upkeep of baseball grounds.
    • This includes but is not limited to mowing, fertilizing and fungicide applications, irrigation repair and maintenance, hand watering, mound and home plate repair, bullpen mound repair, skin and baseline maintenance, warning track cleanup and prep, and tarp pulls.
  • Preventative maintenance on grounds and equipment.
  • Assist with planning and decision making.
  • Other tasks provided by the Head Groundskeeper.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Baseball field maintenance experience
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of turfgrass management practices
  • Ability to perform labor intensive tasks
  • Staff management and time management skills
  • Basic equipment troubleshooting skills
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to work long hours, some weekends, and some holidays
  • Present yourself in a professional manner around professional athletes and VIP’s
  • Respect the privacy of players and coaches
