Position Title: Communications & Broadcasting Assistant
Reports To: Director of Communications & Broadcasting and Communications Manager
Position Term: February-September

Introduction: The Oklahoma City Comets are seeking a Communications & Broadcasting Assistant for the 2026 baseball season. The position will begin in February and will conclude at the end of September, and the position is paid hourly. The Comets are the Triple-A affiliate of the reigning back-to-back World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers and make their home at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
Important note: Non-broadcast duties will be prioritized before broadcast duties. Those without broadcasting experience are still highly encouraged to apply.

 Job functions include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with production of all baseball information, including the annual media guide, daily game notes and game recaps for both home and road games
  • Cover team road games remotely, including compiling in-game video highlights, posting on social media and writing game recaps
  • Assist with all press box operations during OKC Comets home games, including the following gameday positions: Data Stringer, BOSS Operator and Field Timing Coordinator
  • Assist with writing and production of team press releases and media advisories
  • Develop original content for team publications and social media
  • Help coordinate credential, interview and photo requests
  • On-air appearances via team broadcasts – including play-by-play – and/or social media commensurate with experience and comfort level from team management
  • Other potential broadcasting duties include in-game research and serving as stage manager
 
Qualifications:
  • Previous baseball information experience
  • Previous baseball broadcasting experience (if applicable)
  • Strong baseball knowledge
  • Strong writing skills (AP style)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign and Photoshop
  • Must be available to work during all 75 home games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark and during the team’s 75 road games
  • Cursory knowledge of Spanish is preferred but not required
  • Completion of bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field

Salary & Compensation: Position is paid $15 per hour with a maximum of 40 hours per week, and the employee will be eligible for overtime. Compensation will increase during home games when performing the duties of Data Stringer, BOSS Operator or Field Timing Coordinator. Meals are provided prior to home games.
