Position Overview:
The Promotions & Community Relations Intern will play a vital role in planning and executing both in-game promotions and community outreach events. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in fan engagement, community relations, and promotions within a dynamic sports environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in all full-time community relations for the team as it relates to the team’s presence in the community.
- Assist with coordinating and attending community outreach events, including school visits, volunteer events, and mascot appearances.
- Work with mascot and promotional teams to create memorable fan interactions at games and community events.
- Collaborate with the Community Relations team on developing and promoting various outreach programs, such as educational initiatives, volunteer events, and partnerships.
- Establish, manage, and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, and public interest groups.
- Assist mascot performer with event preparation and support during appearances.
- Serve as the spokesperson for the mascot during school visits and community appearances.
- Attend and work scheduled mascot appearances and serve as the mascot handler.
- Support the planning and execution of in-game promotions, including pre-game ceremonies, on-field contests, fan giveaways, and entertainment.
- Work with Corporate Partnerships team and partners as it relates to Community Relations initiatives.
- Works closely with Corporate Partnerships team and Season Seat/Groups teams to create value added promotions for guests.
- Assists in the hiring and supervision of on-field entertainment staff.
- Handles the administrative details for all on-field promotions that entertain fans and integrates our sponsors with our team.
- Provide general office and game day support to the Promotions & Community Relations department as needed.
Qualifications:
- Recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Management, Public Relations, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for fan engagement and community service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and game days.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift promotional materials when needed.
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

This internship begins in February 2026 and extends through the end of the Chihuahuas season. We offer a $750 monthly stipend for living expenses, along with $10 per hour for scheduled gameday work.
