Job Summary
This position aids in Major League advance and player development processes, providing analysis to the Major League coaching staff.
 
 Primary Responsibilities
  • Utilize existing tools to provide mechanical analysis of Major League pitchers for coaching staff.
  • Serve as point person for internal and external mechanical review.
  • Assist pitching coaches in completing various tasks contributing to run prevention strategy.
  • Assist hitting coaches in completing various tasks contributing to run creation strategy.
  • Provide Major League coaching staff with materials to be presented to players for purposes of in-game strategy and player improvement.
  • Operate various portable tracking technologies to assist with player improvement.
  • Complete ad hoc and systematic research using SQL and R/Python to enhance in-game strategy and/or player improvement.
 
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of Bachelor’s degree, with a preference but not limited to Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience with video editing software and tools.
  • Deep passion for baseball, baseball analytics, and baseball strategy.
  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work within a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with players and staff members of various backgrounds and responsibilities.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays) as dictated by Orioles and MLB schedule.
  • Familiarity with industry standard advanced metrics and latest evaluation trends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with SQL and R/Python preferred.
  • Prior experience operating portable tracking technologies preferred.

The anticipated salary for this role is $44,000 annually depending on experience.
