Position Summary:

We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer to manage all systems infrastructure for the Baltimore Orioles, including ballpark and training facilities. This role supports and administers enterprise infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. Responsibilities include the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of both on‑premises and cloud‑based systems, as well as providing hands‑on technical support for business operations and stadium events. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on professional with strong troubleshooting abilities, proven project experience, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑availability environment, along with other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
Primary duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
  • Design, implement, and administer IT infrastructure multiple sites, this includes but is not limited to on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Oversee and manage SAN Storage platform
  • Oversee and manage Backup tools, topology, and disaster recovery process.
  • Administer Windows Server environments and core services (DNS, DHCP, file, print).
  • Manage Active Directory and Azure AD, including users, groups, GPOs, and identity/access controls.
  • Administer cloud platform for organization (AWS)
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity planning.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Microsoft 365 ecosystem including Exchange, Teams, and collaboration tools.
  • Optimize cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for infrastructure and end-user issues.
  • Assist in planning, budgeting, and implementing new technology initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware/software solutions working with vendors for procurement, installation, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain documentation for systems, processes, procedures, and developing SOP.
  • Provide IT Manager on Duty coverage, both on site and remote on call, on a rotating shared basis to cover defined hours of operation which will include events and games.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field and/or 7+ years equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration.
  • 1+ years of experience with AWS Cloud infrastructure
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem (Windows Server, O365, Exchange, Entra ID, Azure Infrastructure).
  • Advanced Knowledge Virtualization (VMware and/or Hyper-V).
  • Advance knowledge of Azure and/or AWS platform.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAN and Cloud storage systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Backup Systems and disaster recovery process and solutions.
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Microsoft or Hyper-V certifications +.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs).
  • Self-motivation and accountability for ensuring service levels are achieved and exceeded.

Work Environment:
  • This is an on-site role with requirements to be present during home games and other key events; the primary work location is Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
  • Some lifting of IT equipment and hands-on troubleshooting in various ballpark locations is required.

The anticipated salary for this role is $100,000-$110,000 annually depending on experience, plus bonus opportunity.
