Location: Baltimore, MD (with travel as needed)
Status: Full-Time, Exempt 

Position Summary: 
The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a compassionate and strategic Director of Player Services to lead initiatives that support the personal and professional well-being of our Major League players and their families. This role is responsible for overseeing travel and family services, ensuring that players and their loved ones feel cared for, supported, and connected throughout the season. The ideal candidate will be a trusted presence within the clubhouse and a proactive, organized leader behind the scenes. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Leadership & Oversight: 
    Lead and manage the Team Travel and Family Services teams, ensuring seamless coordination of logistics and communication, plus consistent delivery of high-quality support. 
  • Player Experience: 
    Serve as a primary point of contact for players regarding off-field needs, helping them navigate personal, family, and logistical matters with discretion and empathy. 
  • Travel Management: 
    Supervise all aspects of team travel—including transportation, lodging, itineraries, contingency planning, and vendor contract negotiations—ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience for players and staff, and being a highly communicative point-of-contact for Orioles business-side departments. 
  • Family Services Strategy: 
    Guide the development, vendor contract negotiations, and execution of family engagement programs, including in-park experiences, events, and concierge-type support services tailored to the needs of player families 
  • Culture & Connection: 
    Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes trust, belonging, and open communication among players, families, and staff. 
  • Administrative Oversight: 
    Ensure accurate documentation, budgeting, and reporting for travel and family services operations; collaborate with HR, PR, and Baseball Operations on compliance and planning. 
  • Transition Support: 
    Provide guidance and resources during personal transitions, injuries, trades, or other life events, helping players and families feel supported and informed. 
 
Qualifications: 
  • 7+ years of experience in player engagement, team operations, hospitality, or family services—preferably within professional sports. 
  • Proven leadership and people management skills. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a high level of emotional intelligence. 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Ability to spend majority of February and March in Sarasota, Florida during Spring Training.  
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information. 
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

The anticipated salary for this role is $110,000 - $125,000 annually depending on experience.
