Position Summary:
The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a Human Resources Director to join our team and play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization. This position will lead key HR functions—recruiting, learning and development, and serve as a trusted business partner to leaders across business operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about cultural transformation, capable of driving strategic initiatives, and ready to roll up their sleeves to execute tactical HR work. This role is designed for someone who can grow into broader responsibilities, supporting many areas outlined in the CHRO position, including talent management, organizational design, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead and inspire the talent acquisition team, ensuring they deliver a best-in-class recruiting experience.
- Set the strategic direction for attracting, retaining, and engaging top talent aligned with Orioles’ values and organizational goals.
- Oversee the development of our employer brand and guide the implementation of onboarding processes that accelerate new hire success and deepen cultural alignment.
Learning & Development
- Provide vision and leadership in the Learning & Development space by driving impactful programs that build leadership capability and foster employee growth.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning, empowering the team to design innovative platforms and initiatives that support organizational priorities.
- Ensure succession planning and career development strategies are embedded across the organization, enabling the team to prepare future leaders.
HR Business Partnership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business operations leaders, delivering strategic support on workforce planning, organizational design, and team effectiveness.
- Act as a change leader, coaching the team to drive cultural transformation and organizational agility.
Compliance & Employee Relations
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring issues are handled with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ensure accurate HR reporting and record-keeping, leveraging best practices and technology for efficiency.
Strategic Projects
- Assist in developing HR technology solutions and process improvements.
- Partner with Community Affairs to foster an inclusive workplace and strengthen community relationships
- Contribute to building recognition and retention programs.

Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years in Human Resources, with expertise in talent acquisition, learning and development, and HR consulting. Minimum of 3 years as a people leader.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
- Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to build credibility and trust; comfort navigating complex stakeholder dynamics in high-stakes situations
- Mindset: Enthusiastic about cultural transformation and fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification preferred).

The anticipated base salary for this role is $130,000-$140,000 annually depending on experience, plus a 15% bonus opportunity.
