Job Title: Director of Event Booking
Location: Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore MD

The Baltimore Orioles are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Event Booking to join our team. This executive will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of the non-gameday private event business and major event business at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
The Director of Event Booking will report to the Chief Revenue Officer and be responsible for leading private and major event business development efforts for Oriole Park at Camden Yards, driving revenue growth through strategic outreach, partnerships, and full-cycle event coordination.
This role will focus on booking non-baseball private events and securing large-scale public events, while selling at a high-level and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver world-class experiences in one of baseball’s most iconic venues. With new premium renovations set to begin this offseason, new assets for ballpark rentals for corporate outings to include the new premium club located behind home plate and a newly renovated club and suite level.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build a robust pipeline by establishing a lead generation system and developing long-term relationships with concert promoters, college athletic directors, event planners, agencies, corporations, and other non-traditional promoters (college football, etc.).
- Proactively solicit new business through personal outreach, sales presentations, trade shows, and industry networking, both locally and nationally.
- Lead growth by developing and executing the private and major events booking strategy, including weekly/monthly performance reporting.
- Represent the Orioles and Oriole Park as a brand ambassador in the community, including with the Convention & Visitors Bureau, local chambers, business councils, and tourism groups.
- Identify trends and innovative opportunities to enhance the ballpark’s competitive position in the venue and event marketplace.
- Participate in and lead client walkthroughs, planning meetings, and internal strategy sessions to ensure effective planning and flawless event execution.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with innovative thinking, resourcefulness, and adaptability to new opportunities.
- Create data-driven, consistent processes to be strategically, fully aligned with one another and all other departments prior to presenting proposals.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans consistent with company business objectives as well as review and evaluate market research and analysis to assess performance against budget.
- Possess a deep understanding of P&L structures and how to construct events that balances revenues and costs to maximize return for the Orioles.
- Work closely with senior leadership to provide revenue updates and adjust strategies based on KPIs and revenue goals.
Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of experience in event sales, booking, or hospitality management, preferably in a large-scale sports or entertainment venue.
- Proven track record of leadership in a sales-driven environment with measurable revenue generation success.
- Expertise in event budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
- Deep knowledge of Baltimore’s business and tourism ecosystem preferred, as well as regional and national event trends. Familiarity with the event landscape- particularly in the Mid-Atlantic region.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as events require.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong decision-making abilities under pressure and a collaborative, team-first approach.
- Candidates must have strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to think strategically and execute effectively across multiple platforms.
- Possess excellent mediation and arbitration skills that allow for compromise and consensus-building in structuring the partnerships.

The anticipated base salary for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 annually plus commission depending on experience.
