The ideal candidate has experience defining, monitoring, and actioning on organizational KPIs; addressing critical business challenges through analysis; developing board-ready presentations and communications; interacting with and influencing senior executives; and managing a high-potential team. This new role will report to the Chief Strategy Officer, supporting organizational alignment and serving as a thought partner for department leaders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Shape the Game Plan (Business and Strategic Planning)
    • Drive annual and multi-year planning efforts for the Orioles and individual functions (Marketing, Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Community, etc.), partnering with department members across all levels of the organization and aligning plans with budget considerations

    • Enable the leadership team to make smart and informed decisions by developing detailed quantitative and qualitative analyses and data-driven recommendations; deliver comprehensive briefs that illuminate options, trade-offs, and strategic implications
    • Prioritize and execute key initiatives using structured plans and timelines
  • Fuel Innovation and Growth
    • Explore new ideas, technologies, and partnerships – from both inside and outside Sports – to help grow the Orioles business
    • Build business cases, test new initiatives, and recommend scale or pivot decisions
  • Strengthen Collaboration, Efficiency, and Impact
    • Establish, deploy, and refine standard tools, processes, communications, and knowledge-sharing practices for the broader organization to improve alignment and execution; build and maintain timelines to keep projects on track
    • Partner with Analytics to transform data into meaningful insights that spur business action
    • Serve as a resource and a trusted advisor for senior leaders, including the President, CSO, CRO, and CMO
  • Lead and Inspire the Team
    • Champion a high-performance culture that values curiosity, integrity, and accountability
    • Manage, mentor, and develop team members to serve as strategic partners and objective data resources for the organization
    • Provide clear, day-to-day direction for the Strategy & Analytics team, in partnership with Analytics, to ensure prioritization aligns with the organization’s goals and evolving needs

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with strong record of academic achievement; MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in Consulting, Finance, Strategy, or related field; Sports and/or Media & Entertainment experience a plus
  • Exceptional ability to distill and interpret raw data to offer creative, practical, actionable insights; experience making data and insights accessible to broad and diverse audiences
