The Hendersonville Honeycrisps are on the lookout for enthusiastic Interns for the 2024 season. After a fantastic 2023 season, this summer promises to be even bigger and better. If you're eager to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of baseball operations, including game day experience, merchandising, ticketing, fan and community engagement, promotions, and more, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
WHO WE ARE:
The Hendersonville Honeycrisps are a collegiate summer league team located in Hendersonville, North Carolina that plays in the Old North State League. We aim to create memorable experiences for fans, support local initiatives, and contribute positively to the Hendersonville community. Through teamwork, dedication, and a passion for baseball, we strive to entertain, inspire, and unite our fans while making a meaningful impact both on and off the field.

INTERNSHIP TIMELINE:
The 2024 Seasonal Internship program will run from May 13, 2024, to July 31, 2024.
COMPENSATION:
This is a non-paid, for college credit or experience internship. Interns receive commission on group ticket and sponsorship sales.
AREAS OF CONCENTRATION:
As a member of the 2024 Intern class, you'll take on managerial roles in various departments, including Fan Experience, Baseball Operations, Ticket Sales & Box Office Operations, Food & Beverage Operations, Merchandise Operations, Promotions & Community Engagement, Hospitality & Sponsorship Fulfillment, and Creative Services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Working towards completing a Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to learning and growth.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Adaptable, coachable, and a great team player.
- A passion for providing unparalleled customer service.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
SEASONAL INTERNSHIP MANAGEMENT ROLES INCLUDE:
Fan Experience:
- Elevate fan engagement with vibrant promotions and memorable experiences.
- Assist with theme nights and on-field entertainment
- Enhance all aspects of the game day experience.
Baseball Operations:
- Serve as attendant for visiting clubhouse during home games.
- Assist general manager, coaches and athletic trainer as needed
- Help coordinate team travel.
- Communicate effectively with league officials, team officials, and grounds crew when necessary.
Ticket Sales & Box Office Operations:
- Sell group and hospitality ticket packages to corporate partners, religious organizations, camps, civic and social groups, birthday parties, and youth sports teams.
- Execute gate operations and support group outings.
- Manage and build a book of clients through relationship-based selling.
- Assist in managing Box Office operations and single-game ticket sales.
Food & Beverage Operations:
- Manage game day concessions.
- Set up and manage POS system for concessions.
- Oversee inventory and ordering.
- Manage concessions staff and quality of service.
Merchandise Operations:
- Operate the merchandise store during games.
- Manage online merchandise orders and shipments.
- Manage team store staff. Assist in game day employee scheduling, training and management.
Promotions & Community Engagement:
- Assist in planning and coordination of community relations events, groups, and promotions.
- Assist in scheduling and organization of all public appearance requests for our mascot and players.
- Assist in non-game day events and community appearances.
- Assist in ensuring a non-stop, fun for all promotions slate during all home games.
- Manage hype team & promotions assistants. Assist in scheduling, training and management.
Hospitality & Sponsorship Fulfillment:
- Sell group and hospitality ticket packages.
- Execute hospitality events on game days and serve as a liaison for group outings.
- Assist in managing sponsorship fulfillment for all sponsors.
- Manage hospitality staff. Assist in game day employee scheduling, training and management.
Creative Services:
- Manage photography and videography efforts with focus on players, games, entertainment and community engagement.
- Assist in content creation and management of social channels (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn).
- Assist in creating digital content and copywriting for marketing purposes.
- Assist in media relations and public relations efforts.
