Thank you for your interest in an internship with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. It is our goal to provide you with hands-on experience and knowledge useful in competing for jobs in the baseball industry, beginning with Summer Collegiate Baseball.  We will also work with you to fulfill requirements for college credit if necessary.  Our internships are a great learning opportunity where previous experience is not always necessary. The Rafters are a part of the Northwoods League, a summer collegiate league located in the midwest. Each summer the Rafters host 36 games at Historic Witter Field and bring in over 35,000 fans through the gates.

Position Overview:
If you have a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences and a love for baseball, our Baseball Team Hospitality Internship is the perfect opportunity for you. Join our team and gain valuable hands-on experience in event hospitality and customer service during Wisconsin Rapids Rafters games. As a Hospitality Intern, you will play an integral role in ensuring our guests have a memorable and enjoyable time at the stadium, overseeing premium seating areas and hospitality services. This is no lazy summer internship! It is However, Very Rewarding and Very Memorable!

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Guest Relations: Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, addressing their inquiries and ensuring their needs are met throughout the game.
  2. Premium Seating Management: Assist in managing premium seating areas, including luxury suites, club seats, and hospitality lounges.
  3. Ticketing Support: Assist with ticket scanning, seating assignments, and managing access to premium areas.
  4. Hospitality Services: Ensure that all hospitality services, such as food and beverage, meet high-quality standards and are promptly delivered to guests.
  5. Guest Experience Enhancement: Brainstorm and implement ideas to enhance the overall guest experience, focusing on personalization and attention to detail.
  6. Special Events: Support the planning and execution of special events held in premium seating areas, including pre-game receptions and meet-and-greets.
  7. Guest Feedback Collection: Gather and record guest feedback to identify areas for improvement and report any issues to the hospitality manager.
  8. Event Coordination: Assist with event coordination and logistics, ensuring smooth operations and timely execution.
  9. Collaboration: Work closely with the hospitality team, concessions staff, and other stadium departments to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
  10. This is not an all-inclusive list and you will be assigned additional team duties to ensure a positive fan experience, facilities cleanliness, and everyone’s safety.

Requirements:
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on providing outstanding customer service with a smile and positive attitude.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to deliver personalized and flawless fan experiences.
  • Baseball Enthusiast: A genuine passion for baseball and the ability to convey that enthusiasm to fans.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with the hospitality team and support other stadium departments as needed.
  • Availability: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to cover baseball games and special events.

Educational Background: 
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, Tourism, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Duration of Commitment & Compensation:
This is a 3 month (Mid-May through Mid-August) summer internship position. Compensation and academic credit options can be discussed during the interview process.
