Position Summary:
The Director of Ticket Sales is a key leadership role within the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters organization, responsible for driving ticket revenue, developing fan relationships, and supporting community engagement. This individual will focus on selling grandstand ticket packages, overseeing ticketing operations, and collaborating with multiple departments to create a seamless and engaging experience for every fan. The ideal candidate is a motivated, personable, and organized individual with a passion for baseball, community outreach, and customer service.

Primary Responsibilities:
Ticket Sales & Outreach
  • Develop and sell ticket packages for the grandstand seating area, including full season, partial season, and mini-plan offerings.
  • Conduct cold calling and follow-up with warm leads to drive individual and group ticket sales.
  • Launch and manage a pop-up ticket sales stand in the community during the spring and season to increase visibility and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Fan Experience to promote and sell tickets for non-league events (e.g., concerts, community days, special events).
Fan Engagement & Customer Retention
  • Engage with fans during games to discuss their experience and gather suggestions for improvement.
  • Conduct follow-up calls/emails with fans who provided an NPS (Net Promoter Score):
    • 6 or below: Work with the Director of Fan Experience to understand concerns and improve retention.
    • 7 or higher: Learn what made their experience great and offer ticket options for upcoming games.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to collect email addresses from at least 96% of grandstand ticket buyers, including walk-up purchases on game days.
Community Networking & Marketing
  • Represent the Rafters by networking with businesses, organizations, and individuals throughout the Wisconsin Rapids community.
  • Coordinate with local media outlets (radio, print, digital) to promote ticket packages and special promotions before, during, and after the season.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Group Sales and Experience to follow up with group outing attendees, utilizing collected emails to encourage future ticket purchases.
Promotions & Camps
  • Assist in the promotion of baseball camps led by Rafters coaches, increasing awareness and participation through local outreach and ticketing platforms.
Leadership & Staff Management
  • Hire, train, and manage ticket sales interns, ensuring they are well-equipped to support sales goals and customer service initiatives.
  • Hire, train, and oversee clubhouse and field maintenance interns, coordinating their duties to support a smooth game day operation.
Game Day Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Director of Fan Experience to:
    • Engage fans throughout the game and discuss their experience.
    • Collect feedback and suggestions to help enhance the overall fan experience.
    • Assist with operational support as needed to ensure fan satisfaction and safety.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in ticket sales, customer service, or community outreach, preferably in a sports or entertainment setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
  • Results-driven and goal-oriented with a proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season.
  • Experience managing interns or part-time staff is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CRM or ticketing software is preferred.
