Who We Are
The Minot Hot Tots are a summer collegiate baseball team in Minot North Dakota in the Northwoods League (NWL). The name comes from a Midwestern love of the popular dish, tater tot hotdish, and also is the perfect combination of baseball and fun. The team’s mission is to use fun to make a difference in the local community by providing high quality entertainment that an entire family can enjoy, as well as giving back to the community through various promotions and programs throughout the season. The Hot Tots joined the NWL in 2023. The NWL is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 24 teams, drawing more fans than any league of its kind. The NWL provides top college players from North America and beyond a summer collegiate baseball experience. More than 300 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball in the NWL’s 30-year history.

Who We’re Looking For
The Minot Hot Tots are looking for a Content Marketing Manager in Minot, North Dakota to lead, support, and grow our content marketing efforts across various departments including tickets, sponsorships, merchandise and fan experience. We’re looking for a passionate, talented and positive person who strives for excellence, happiness and inspires the same in others. 

The Position
As the Content Marketing Manager, you will lead the content strategy and manage the content publishing platforms across the website, social media, and other marketing avenues. You’ll work closely with all internal departments to build marketing plans, create videos and graphics and develop storytelling content to help extend the team’s brand. 

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Oversee and organize marketing and advertising campaigns from strategy to execution by working closely with internal departments including but not limited to: tickets, partnerships, merchandise, events and operations
  • Measure and review analytics for content and marketing campaigns through Google Analytics, URL trackers, other analytics tools
  • Oversee and manage all media and marketing inventory
  • Oversee, manage, and update team website, newsletter database, social media platforms and mobile app
  • Publish daily across team platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc.
  • Create, develop and deliver engaging content that makes fans laugh, smile, cry, and ultimately uses FUN to make a difference in fan’s lives.
  • Develop concepts, shoot, edit, and produce video content for multiple different formats, television, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram Reels, ect.
  • Communicate with fans through email and texting by creating thoughtfully planned e-newsletters and text blasts about promotions, merchandise, game days, and events 
  • Design marketing materials including but not limited to: social graphics, mailers, flyers, tickets, billboards, etc.
  • Understand competitive trends in the sport, entertainment and event industry
  • Continually build and maximize brand awareness through current and new media elements and strategies  
  • Oversee and maintain media relationships and contracts
  • Oversee the team's NWL broadcast during each home game on ESPN+ and NWL Network
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets
  • Write press releases, media advisories and pitch potential story ideas to local media outlets
  • Oversee and manage team of seasonal media interns
  • Represent the team at various networking events and participate in other outside, community events, as defined by the team
  • Execute game day responsibilities 
  • Provide best in-class customer service
  • Work all home games and ballpark events
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
  • Experience with Google Analytics preferred, but not required
  • Experience with WordPress or other web-based applications preferred, but not required
  • Strong marketing and content strategy development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and think strategically 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make an impact, is inspired to perform well to help contribute to the success of a project or the team

*Vacation days are awarded at the discretion of the General Manager with no maximum number of days allowed per calendar year. All vacation requests are to be received at least two weeks prior to needed time off. Vacation time is discouraged from April 1- September 1 due to in-season responsibilities. In the case of illness please provide notice to the General Manager as early as able.
