KINGFISH ACCOUNTANT POSITION

The Kenosha Kingfish, members of the 24 team Northwoods League, the premiere College Wood Bat
League in North America, are looking for a full time Accountant to start immediately. The Kingfish,
established in 2014, play a 72 game schedule (36/home, 36/road) from Memorial Day through mid-
August. Home games are played at 3200 seat Historic Simmons Field in Kenosha, WI. During the 2025
season, the Kingfish averaged just short of 2500 fans per game, the third highest average in the League.
Skills
1. Proven accounting experience, or a strong foundation gained through internships, coursework, or
academic projects
2. Hands-on experience with payroll processing, or familiarity through internships, coursework, or
academic training
3. Familiar with creation and posting of journal entries to the accounting system
4. Familiarity with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Payroll is a plus
5. Familiar with financial statement preparation
6. Must have strong Microsoft Excel skills
7. Ability to work with multiple on-line software services including
a. Square (retail revenue),
b. Bill.com (payables processing),
c. Time-card mobile apps
d. Web based ticketing
e. Credit card processing

Responsibilities
1. Solely responsible for all accounting functions.
2. Process bi-weekly payroll using QuickBooks Payroll.
3. In Season mid-May through Mid-August, train and utilize an Accounting Intern.
4. Lead and coordinate all seasonal staff on-boarding processes to include collecting all tax and
identification documents, bank account set-up for direct deposit, and load information into team’s
payroll system.
5. In Season prepare detailed Excel workbook with tips allocations to seasonal employees. Enter
allocations into QuickBooks Payroll for bi-weekly payroll processing.
6. Upload payables invoices into Bill.com and submit for manager approval.
7. Download Square sales data, prepare and post journal entry into QuickBooks Online.
8. Review ticketing system reports. Prepare and post journal entries into QuickBooks Online.
9. Prepare monthly on-line sales tax returns.
10. Prepare monthly royalties report.
11. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.

12. Following detailed monthly closing checklist to ensure all data is properly recorded in QuickBooks
Online.
13. Prepare and track nightly game day revenue report excel sheet. Include tickets, concessions,
merchandise revenues and seasonal game day wage tracking after every game.
14. Design concession inventory system to assist in accurate reporting and ordering.
15. Design merchandise inventory system to assist in loss prevention and ordering accuracy.
16. Maintain off-season weekly and monthly sales reports for ticket packages, groups, and
advertising. Includes deposits, total items, and total dollar sales.
17. Assist in formulating annual organizational budget.
18. Track and maintain monthly revenues and expenses against budget numbers.
19. Off-season opportunity for group sales and commission generation for additional income
potential.
20. Assist sales staff in off-season account servicing. Send correspondence to customers and clients
on behalf of the team and salesperson. Coordinate follow ups with clients for artwork, payments,
and meeting deadlines for any artwork needed. Maintain client contract book, sales documents,
and A/R.
21. Join all full time staff in community appearances, answering phones, welcoming office visitors,
and assisting in merchandise or ticket sales when needed. All staff are required to participate in
these activities.
Training will be provided
Hours: Full time – 40hrs per week
Work location: In person, in office. Occasional work from home (must have prior approval).
Pay rate: $50,000 to $60,000 per year.
