JOB TITLE: Corporate Sales Manager
REPORTS TO: VP of Ticket Sales & Experience
COMPANY: Kalamazoo Growlers
About The Organization
The Kalamazoo Growlers are a summer collegiate baseball team in the Northwoods League. The Growlers are two-time Northwoods League Champions (2022, 2024) and four-time Northwoods League Organization of the Year recipients (2016, 2020, 2022, 2024). The baseball team consistently finishes in the top 5 in attendance in the league each year and has been ranked the #2 ballpark in the country. Over the years the team is known for its outrageous promotions including our 6-year old Manager "Coach Drake", 2014's Ballpark Digest's Promotion of the year "Salute to Selfie Night" and more. The Growlers play their games at Homer Stryker Field, a 3,500 seat ballpark located just outside of downtown Kalamazoo.
Who We're Looking For
Are you the kind of person who loves building relationships and thinks a baseball stadium is the best office in the world? Do you get a little buzz from closing a deal and seeing a huge group of people having the time of their lives at an event you put together? If so, we want to talk to you.
The Kalamazoo Growlers are looking for a rockstar Corporate Sales Manager to join our front office team. We're not about the traditional office environment; we're about fun, community, and summer nights filled with baseball. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to connect with local businesses and show them why a Growlers game is the ultimate destination for their company outings and client entertainment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Become the Go-To Person for Fun: You'll be the master of our B2B sales, building relationships with local companies to sell Corporate Memberships and unforgettable Group Outings.
- Be a community teammate: Yes, cold calls are a requirement. However, being out in the community, networking, and showing businesses how they can create amazing memories at the ballpark is essential.
- Sell the Sizzle: This isn't just about selling tickets; it's about selling an experience. You'll be crafting the perfect package for a company's summer picnic or finding the best seats for a CEO to wow their clients.
- High-Five Your Clients: On game nights, you'll be a key presence, making sure your groups are having a blast and everything is running smoothly. Your clients aren't just accounts; they're our guests.
- Crush Your Goals: We're a team that loves to win, and that includes hitting our sales targets. You'll be a key player in driving the revenue that makes all the fun possible.
- Putting in the Work: No one said sales was easy. You'll be expected to schedule 10+ meetings per week, develop new sales leads, and actively prospect and canvass daily. Maintain call logs on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
What We're Looking For
- You're a "people person" in the truest sense. You're not afraid to strike up a conversation and can build rapport with anyone.
- You have a competitive spirit and a drive to succeed, but you're a team player first.
- You're organized, self-motivated, and know how to manage your time to get the best results.
- You have some experience in sales (B2B is a huge plus!), but we value a great attitude and a strong work ethic just as much.
- You understand that working in sports isn't a typical 9-to-5, and you're excited about the energy of game days.
Why You'll Love It Here
Your office is a baseball stadium. Need we say more? You'll be part of a passionate, fun-loving team that works hard and celebrates its successes. You'll have a direct impact on our organization's growth and get to see the results of your work every night when you see hundreds of your clients cheering in the ballpark.
If you're ready to call the ballpark your office and make a real impact in the Kalamazoo community, we want to hear from you!
