About Grand Forks Spitfires
Grand Forks will be home to a Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) team beginning in the 2026 season, bringing high-level summer collegiate softball to the region. The team will compete at Albrecht Field on the campus of the University of North Dakota, providing top college softball players from across North America with an opportunity to develop their skills in a competitive environment while delivering high-energy entertainment for fans.
Position Overview
The Graphic Design & Entertainment Intern will assist the Sponsorship Activation, Entertainment, and Marketing departments with a variety of print and digital design projects while also contributing to gameday entertainment and creative planning. This position offers an immersive opportunity to gain real-world experience in marketing, branding, and live-event production.

Key Responsibilities
Office Responsibilities
- Design creative materials for all departments including sponsorship, marketing, ticket sales, and events.
- Create, plan, and execute video board graphics and motion graphics on brand NEW state of the art videoboard (could include, but not limited to: lineups, sponsor graphics, fan engagement, etc.)
- Assist with sponsor-related design projects such as signage, gameday program design, pocket schedules, MVP cards, and more.
- Support the Marketing Team with social media graphics, advertisements, and website updates.
- Collaborate with leadership to plan and execute theme nights, book entertainment acts, write game scripts, and develop on-field promotions.
- Attend bi-weekly marketing meetings and contribute new ideas.
- Produce print collateral such as flyers, posters, and coupons.
- Maintain organized records of creative assets in Asana for sponsorship recaps.
- Assist with in-house printing and proofing to ensure quality and brand consistency.
Game Day & Event Responsibilities
- Operate the video board during Grand Forks Spitfires games — managing player content, sponsor ads, and fan engagement content.
- Prepare and verify all in-game graphics before gates open.
- Post starting lineups and final scores on social media in coordination with the Marketing Team.
- Support fan experience, on-field promotions, and live entertainment during all home games.
- Expected to work all home games; gameday hours can exceed 15 hours per day.
General Team Responsibilities
- Maintain office hours of 9 AM–5 PM on non-game days.
- Assist with distributing marketing materials throughout the community.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Grand Forks Spitfires front office staff.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects) and Canva
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude with the ability to multitask
- Comfortable performing under pressure and in front of crowds
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and work extended hours as needed

Academic Qualifications
Applicants should be pursuing a degree in one or more of the following fields:
- Graphic Design
- Marketing or Communications
- Sport Management or Event Management
- Business or related field
Compensation & Housing Options
This is an unpaid internship with a monthly stipend to help cover expenses. The organization provides two housing options designed to accommodate both local interns and those relocating to Grand Forks for the duration of the internship.
These housing/stipend options are for the Summer Portion of the Internship; Stipend will be $500 during the Spring Remote Portion.
Option 1-
Stipend-$1000/Month
Housing-Not Provided. Intern is responsible for providing their own housing.
Option 2-
Stipend-$500/Month
Housing: Housing is provided by the organization. If a security deposit or utility expenses are required, they will be the responsibility of the intern.
College Credit
College credit may be available toward a major, minor, or general elective depending on university requirements.
