Compensation: College-credit-based program and monthly stipend

Duluth Huskies Internships:
Duluth Huskies Internships are designed for college students (priority to juniors and seniors) seeking real world experience, and are set to challenge, prepare you for the demands of the fast-paced, professional sports and entertainment industry, and set you apart in any career path you pursue. 

Our Internships are a hands-on, all-encompassing experience that goes far beyond the classroom—giving candidates the chance to build meaningful skills, learn both the creative planning and business sides of sports, and play an important role in creating unforgettable fan experiences. 

Candidates MUST be ready to commit to long hours at the ballpark during the entire summer, especially when the team is at home (60-80 hours/week during homestands). Applicants should not have another job and as a result will walk away with invaluable experience, a professional network, and a summer you will never forget.

Please be aware that you will be expected to learn and help out in ALL departments no matter what position you are hired for. After all, the best, most successful Huskies Interns jump in wherever needed, bring great energy, and make every day at the ballpark better!

Position Overview:
The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club, a proud member of the Northwoods League, is seeking a Community Relations Intern for the 2026 season. This position plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships between the Huskies and the community, including sponsors, fans, and local organizations. This intern will assist with sponsor fulfillment, community outreach, and fan engagement, while working closely with the Marketing & Promotions and Graphic Design Interns under the marketing umbrella. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in community relations, event coordination, and sports marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

Sponsorship & Community Relations
  • Assist with sponsor fulfillment and Proof of Performance throughout the season, ensuring all sponsorship commitments are met and thoroughly documented.
  • Lead sponsor activation during home games, including signage, in-game promotions, on-field events, and auctions.
  • Help coordinate and execute community appearances with players, coaches, and mascot at local events such as parades, youth programs, and non-profit visits.
  • Assist with scheduling and communication between community partners and the front office.
  • Capture photos and videos of community and sponsorship events for social media and sponsor recaps.

Fan & Game-Day Engagement
  • Work alongside the Marketing & Promotions intern to execute in-game promotions and ensure a memorable fan experience.
  • Interact with fans throughout the game and capture moments for social media content.
  • Assist with pre-game setup and post-game cleanup, including maintaining stands, restrooms, and other shared spaces.
  • Support special events and theme nights as needed.

Social Media & Digital Support
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Intern team to create and post social media content highlighting community events, sponsor initiatives, and fan experiences.
  • Post live updates during games, including photos and videos of community groups, sponsor activations, and on-field features.
  • Contribute to the development of promotional videos and recap materials for the webcast and social media.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with stadium setup and teardown, supporting the front office as needed.
  • Participate in other projects assigned by the front office to support overall operations and marketing initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with fans, sponsors, and community partners in a professional manner.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Team-player mentality with a willingness to assist with various tasks across the ballpark.
  • Must be available for all Duluth Huskies home games.
