Position Overview:
The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club, a proud member of the Northwoods League, is seeking a Clubhouse Manager Intern for the 2026 season. This position plays a vital role in supporting players, coaches, umpires, and staff while ensuring the smooth and professional operation of the clubhouse throughout the summer.
The clubhouse serves as the central hub of any baseball organization—a space that directly impacts team performance, morale, and daily operations. The Clubhouse Manager is Director of all team operations as it relates to taking care of the players and clubhouse operations. Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for players, coaches, and umpires. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in sports operations, player relations, and facility management within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Facilities Upkeep and Maintenance:
- Daily cleaning of the clubhouse, showers, restrooms, and training area.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning mirrors, sinks, showers, and toilets.
- Maintain a professional and organized environment for players and coaches at all times.
- Cleans, takes out trash after every game from home and visiting team dugouts and bullpens
Laundry & Uniforms:
- Handle all laundry, including home and visiting team uniforms, following each game, along with, towels, and personal loops.
- Complete laundry duties at Kenwood Laundry, the Huskies’ official provider, which requires driving to and from the laundromat after games.
- Oversee uniform maintenance and minor repairs to jerseys, pants, and equipment as needed.
Equipment & Workouts:
- Prepare water jugs and other necessary equipment for team workouts/game days.
- Works closely with Athletic Trainer providing water coolers and ice as needed
- Assist with packing and loading gear for road trips under the Field Manager’s direction, and ensure multiple days ahead of time that the team has adequate travel food and supplies (e.g., peanut butter, jelly, bread, water) for entire road trip.
- Ensure all dugout and clubhouse spaces are organized before and after games.
- Helps during the game with equipment needs for players, coaches, and umpires
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of uniforms, helmets, jerseys, pants, etc.
Player Management & Transportation:
- Serve as the point of contact for arriving and departing players.
- Pick up players from the Duluth airport and transport them to the dorms at the start of their stay.
- Drop players off at the airport at the conclusion of their time in Duluth.
- Issue room keys, gym keys, and player equipment upon arrival.
- Ensure all player-issued items and equipment, are returned at the end of each player’s stay. Along with, adding it back to inventory to produce accurate numbers at the end of season.
- Monitor inventory of player-issued gear inventory, including hats, shorts, and batting practice tops; notify the front office at least two weeks in advance if supplies are running low.
- Coordinate closely with coaching staff and front office to ensure player needs are met efficiently and professionally.
- Inform Marketing Interns prior to a player arriving so they can get you their name plate for locker cubby
- Player Deposit collection reminders/returns
- Prepare locker cubby with disbursement of all necessary items upon player arrival. Including but not limited to, jerseys, name plate, helmet, pants, game hat, bp tops, etc.
- Ensure player follow through with sponsorship commitments
- Sign up enough players for each required community appearances per the Marketing Team and inform Operations Team if a meal will be needed afterwords
Umpire /Bat Boy Liaison:
- Welcome the umpires upon arrival to Wade Stadium and direct them to their locker room.
- Ensure the umpire room is prepared and stocked prior to each game.
- Provide umpires with their meal vouchers and gas cards as directed upon their arrival
- Serve as the main point of contact for umpire needs throughout the game day.
- Organize, schedule and the go to contact for Bat Boy and Girl.
Ballpark & Intern Support:
- On days requiring assistance, help the ballpark operations team with setup in group seating areas or other designated locations.
- Assist with ensuring fan areas are clean and presentable before gates open.
- Collaborate with fellow Interns and Front Office Staff to promote a positive, team-first environment.
- Any other jobs that are necessary to improving the overall operations of the clubhouse and players
- Be prepared to assist in other operational areas when needed—it’s a team effort.
Post-Game Duties:
- Assist with post-game cleanup as needed.
- Lock up locker rooms and secure all clubhouse areas.
- Transport laundry (home and visiting team) to the laundromat immediately following the game to complete nightly laundry duties.
Qualifications:
- Self motivated and very organized individual who pays attention to detail and has a strong passion to succeed
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and time management skills,
- Ability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and enthusiasm for baseball operations.
- Ability to work proactively, and independently or as part of a team.
