Who We Are

The Bismarck Larks joined the Northwoods League (NWL) in 2017. The NWL is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 25 teams, drawing more fans than any league of its kind. The NWL provides top college players from North America and beyond a summer collegiate baseball experience. More than 350 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball in the NWL’s 31-year history.

The Bismarck Larks became the first team in NWL history to win NWL Organization of the Year in back-to-back seasons (2017 & 2018). The Larks sold out 27 of 36 home games in 2017 (75%) and continued their success in 2018 selling out 30 of 36 home games with an average overall attendance of more than 68,000 fans.

In 2020, the Larks became the first sports team in the country to play safely with fans in the stands during the COVID-19 pandemic.  In 2021, the Larks sold out 92% of every ticket and were named one of the top 30 employers in sports by Front Office Sports in the company of the Denver Broncos and Savannah Bananas.

In 2023, the Larks were viral for rebranding to the Missouri River Motorboaters, hosted the NWL All-Star Game aired on ESPNU, aired two games on NBC - North Dakota, debuted the NWL’s biggest videoboard, and hosted fans from 33 different states.

The Larks are committed to their mission of using FUN to make a difference in the lives of our community, employees, players, and interns.

Position Overview:
Do you have an oversized personality ready to fit into an oversized costume? We’re looking for high-energy, animated individuals to embody our beloved mascots and help create unforgettable experiences for fans of all ages!

Whether it’s rallying the crowd on game day or surprising kids at a school event, our mascots are the heartbeat of our entertainment team. This part-time position is perfect for performers who are passionate about making people smile, thrive in front of a crowd, and aren’t afraid to be a little (okay, a lot) silly.

Who You’ll Be:

From Clark the Lark to other iconic characters across our brand, you’ll be stepping into the (oversized) shoes of the faces our fans know and love. Each mascot is a key representative of our team, both on and off the field.

What You’ll Do:

  • Be the Star of the Show: Perform as one of our team mascots during home games, engaging fans with energy, humor, and excitement from the stands to the sidelines.

  • Spread the Spirit: Appear at community events, schools, parades, and sponsor appearances year-round to promote the team and spread joy throughout the Bismarck area.

  • Stay in Character: Maintain the unique personality, movement, and fan-friendly mannerisms of each mascot to preserve their established identities.

  • Suit Up with Care: Ensure all costume elements are properly cared for, stored, and maintained after every appearance.

  • Collaborate Creatively: Work closely with the marketing and entertainment teams to develop new mascot bits, skits, and moments that fans will remember.

Who You Are:

  • A natural performer who thrives on crowd interaction and physical comedy

  • Comfortable in costume for extended periods, sometimes in high temperatures

  • Physically fit enough for moderate activity, including dancing, running, jumping, and performing with limited vision

  • Professional, punctual, and reliable

  • Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Experience in acting, dance, improv, or mascot work is a big plus—but not required
