Position Summary
The Battle Creek Battle Jacks, a proud member of the Northwoods Summer Collegiate Baseball League, have launched the new Battle Jacks Academy, featuring a state-of-the-art indoor turf facility in Battle Creek, MI.

We are seeking Part-Time Baseball Instructors to join our growing Academy team. Instructors will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, and developing athletes of all ages and skill levels in both the fundamentals and advanced techniques of the game.

This role focuses on player development through private lessons, small-group instruction, and clinics, helping athletes improve their skills, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love for the sport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct individual and group training sessions focusing on hitting, pitching, fielding, base running, and game strategy.
  • Evaluate players’ skills, strengths, and areas for improvement through regular assessments and feedback.
  • Develop customized training programs to meet each athlete’s goals and developmental level.
  • Demonstrate proper techniques and ensure safe and effective skill execution.
  • Teach game rules, situational awareness, and strategic thinking.
  • Encourage positive attitudes, discipline, and respect among players.
  • Prepare athletes for competition, including practice organization, warm-ups, and mental preparation.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, safe training environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, players, and program administrators regarding progress and goals.
  • Stay current on coaching techniques, training trends, and safety standards in baseball and softball.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience coaching or playing baseball or softball at a competitive level (e.g., high school, collegiate, or professional).
  • Strong knowledge of game fundamentals, rules, and advanced strategies.
  • Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with athletes of various ages and abilities.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Concussion certification
  • Must pass a background check.

Work Environment
  • Indoor training environments.
  • Evening, weekend, and seasonal hours as required by facility operations.
  • May involve moderate physical activity and lifting of equipment.

Compensation
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
Work Location: In person
