Badlands Big Sticks Baseball is a summer collegiate baseball team located in Dickinson, North Dakota. Founded in 2018, the team has been providing family-oriented entertainment with great baseball to Dickinson and the surrounding communities ever since.

In 2026, the Badlands Big Sticks will enter their 3rd season as members of the Northwoods League - a summer collegiate wood bat league founded in 1994 with 26+ teams across seven states and one province, which has produced over 400 Major Leaguers in its 30-year history.

We are proud to represent the people of Western North Dakota and exemplify the spirit of Theodore Roosevelt.

Internship Information:
  • Start Date: 2nd Week of May (TENTATIVE)
  • End Date: 2nd Week of August (TENTATIVE)
  • Housing provided
  • Current enrollment in a college program is required
  • Expected to be available for all Badlands Big Sticks home games and team events, this includes weekends and holidays
  • Expected to be available during the entirety of games/events from report time through conclusion of responsibilities. Schedule will be dictated by supervisor and is subject to change daily
  • Expected to be available on non-game days to attend meetings, work office hours, and complete responsibilities as assigned
  • Must be able to aid in all areas of team operation including, but not limited to, ballpark set-up and tear-down on gamedays, pre and post-season cleaning and organization, acting as the mascot when needed, and taking out the trash
Summary
The Badlands Big Sticks are seeking a detail-oriented and driven person to oversee video production and directing for all home games. This role is central to delivering professional-quality live broadcasts while ensuring production equipment, cameras, and content management systems operate smoothly. The candidate will report to and assist the Video Production Supervisor in all technical aspects relating to the broadcast and all of its’ systems. Training is provided, but some experience with technical equipment is required. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and eager to contribute to all aspects of video production—from live directing to content creation and editing. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the PC director and occasionally the Camera director (as needed, training provided) for all Badlands Big Sticks home games.
  • Ensure production, camera, and storage equipment is functional and maintained.
  • Upload game footage and other required content according to league deadlines.
  • Pay attention to commercial breaks and live replay clipping.
  • Assist with content production across various media projects as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional press box environment.
  • Communicate directly with the Video Production Supervisor regarding equipment needs and immediately report production issues.
  • Assist with the production and editing of pregame and postgame interviews when required.
  • Communicate with ESPN-Bristol for ESPN+ gamedays and adhere to rules and guidelines associated with ESPN and league protocols.
  • Assist with ballpark setup and teardown as needed.
Qualifications

  • Experience or strong interest in video production, broadcasting, or media operations.
  • Ability to learn and manage technical equipment quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in live, high-pressure environments.
  • Willingness to adapt and contribute to multiple areas of production.
  • Have an eye and understanding for live video clipping for replays and graphic placement/timing.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season.
  • Prior directing or production experience is a requirement.
