Currently, 7th Inning Stretch owns and operates the Everett AquaSox, High-A West Affiliate of the Seattle Mariners; the Stockton Ports, Single-A Affiliate of the Oakland A’s; and the Delmarva Shorebirds, Single-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Reports Directly To: General Manager 

Position Summary: Individual will be responsible for directing and maintaining all areas relating to the baseball field as well as stadium operations and maintenance needs throughout the summer.  This person will ensure that the playing surface is kept in outstanding condition throughout the year as well as ensuring the stadium itself is kept in the best possible condition.  This person will work in conjunction with the Everett School District in maintaining the field and facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, plan, direct, and coordinate all aspects of field maintenance for all AquaSox baseball games.
  • Ensure the playing surface is in superior condition for the entire season. 
  • Perform proactive maintenance on various areas of the ballpark as needed (fixing seats, maintaining protective netting, hanging signs, etc.)
  • Funko Field is an artificial turf field. The baseball-specific AstroTurf Diamond Series product was installed in 2018. Maintaining the mound, bullpens, and batting circle is of utmost importance. Candidate is expected to be an expert in maintaining mounds and bullpens. 
  • Maintain turf as needed and instructed by AstroTurf guidelines. 
  • Work on a day-to-day basis with the AquaSox coaching staff relating to field needs.
  • Execute all pregame and post-game responsibilities related to field maintenance. (i.e. batting practice, infield, clean-up, etc.)
  • Hire, Train and Direct the work of all part-time grounds maintenance staff.
  • Operate the grounds/maintenance department in an efficient manner with the ability to operate within a budget.
  • Keep the General Manager apprised of equipment and material needs.
  • Inventory and secure all field operations tools and equipment.
  • Assist as needed with high school baseball events

Required Experience:
  • College degree with major in Turf Management (Groundskeeper Experience could potentially fulfill this requirement). Turf degree a plus.
  • Experience in sports turf and landscape maintenance. Baseball experience required. 
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and have the capability to work with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment and possess the knowledge of field tools.
  • Knowledge of basic management and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to initiate, lead, plan and direct the work of game day grounds staff. 
  • Ability to motivate and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and within a team framework
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and achieve objectives.

Duration: This full-time position will be filled immediately and is a year-round position for the right individual.
Compensation: $23.00 per hour plus OT. This is a seasonal position that could become a FT, year-round position for the right person. Other benefits available including health and dental insurance after waiting period.
